Advice For New Wheels/Suspension
Advice For New Wheels/Suspension
So I have a stock 03 G35 sedan and need some advice.
I found a set of semi concave Work Emotion CR KAI in 18x8.5 +25 and 18x9.5 +20 with 245/40/18 and 275/40/18 tires that I will purchase this weekend.
I'm getting alot of advice every which way for fitment. Some say I'll be fine with tein h tech springs and other say I need to get coilovers and a camber kit for the rear.
So does anyone have any advice for me?
My current idea is to take the 275's off and put 245's on for the 9.5 rears and putting 225's for the front 8.5's. Then I will put the h techs with a ichiba rear camber kit and roll all the fenders. I wouldn't mind a little poke as along as I don't cut into the tire. I think the s tech's may cause that issue hence my choice of the h techs.

I only want a moderate drop to help accent the wheels. Nothing too crazy. I'd like to keep it as a daily driver.
The thought of getting some tein basics crossed my mind, but that wouldn't be until much later.

Based on what I know, the front should not be a problem, but the rear looks like you might have some trouble fitting... You probably will definitely have to get the rear fenders rolled and may have to dial in some negative camber as well.
i would do 8.5 225/35 and 9.5 245/35 roll fenders and springs/coils will work fine depending how low the springs get you wont wont need camber kit but i would anyways so you could get toe bolts and dial everything in and you should be golden
Thanks for all your input guys. I really appreciate it.

I'm actually not a fan of using the 35.
-2 to be flush? I'd be ok with the poke with little to no camber as long as the fender doesn't cut into the tire.
How will the -2 handel for tire wear? I been reading that its not that bad. I want to preserve the life of the tires as much as possible.

As you adjust the camber it will throw your toe out of spec. All he is saying is that Bad toe settings will chew up tires faster than a little bit of camber.
Just make sure the rear camber kit comes with a toe bolt so you can ajdust the toe a little more than stock adjustment range. When you take the car in for an alignment, set the camber where you want/like and then have them focus on making sure that your toe settings are witin spec.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

I run 40 series tires because I drive a lot and they are a smoother ride than the 35s. If you're on H techs you shouldn't need to pull the fenders but at +20 in the rear they will definitely need a roll. And yes, your offset will require some negative camber because the tire will hit the fender at stock alignment settings.I'm running 245/40/19 on the rear of my car on a 9.5" rim and my offset's +33. Camber is at a comfortable -1.9. My rim sits just outside the fender line and my tire's sidewall has about 1/8" clearance between it and the fender. I'm rolled and flattened. Your offsets push the edge of your rims out over a half inch of where mine sit.
