Examples? sure.

Nissan put a brand new engine into the 1992-1994 maxima. VE30DE. The only engine they used it for.

Nissan also redesigned the maxima in 2000. For 2000-2001 they used the VQ30DEK. In 2002, they used the VQ35 in the same designed body style maxima.

Open your mind people.

And there are strong arguments for putting the G37 in the sedan.

One: the coupe, sedan, and z have shared the same drivetrain since inception. Why change that now?

Two: it's more economical to share the same engine across the entire platform. As has been stated before: economics of scale.

Three: when the G35 was originally introduced(as a sedan, I might add), it's largest value proposition versus the competition was it's power and torque. That's no longer the case. The IS350 is a faster vehicle, as is the 335. Just being a cheaper product isn't going to sell as many cars as being cheaper and faster.

Pretty logical to me, and many others share the same opinion.

But then you come into this thread, broadly call people *******s and stupid. Then you claim the idea of putting the 3.7 into the sedan as stupid as well?

You seem to have a closed mind. Maybe I should watch your posts for potential moderation.
I think the point he's trying to make is that its one thing to discuss a point, its another to personally "attack" the OP, especially when I'm simply providing an FYI on what I was told, and clearly not stating fact. Being constructive is very different from being critical.

Obviously, I'm not the OP, so as an observer I have a different perspective. But I just haven't seen anything in this thread that is too off base. This is the internet. Try not to take things so personally.

I think everyone else is not attacking YOU. Just questioning what your source said. There's a diff.

Nonetheless, I think the op has done a great job with the info. We should all appreciate the fact that somebody was willing to take the effort to share with this board Please fill us in on the GTR when it arrives next to his cinderblock driveway :P It would be a shame to see the G35er_in_TO posts stop at 44 so lets all be nice and just relax. Thanks again.

My goodness... somebody call a friggin whaaaaaaaaaaa-mbulance...

It's just a discussion...

It's not a big deal...

Talking about validity of possible future specs does NOT equate to a personal attack on you, OP... they may question the info, but I don't think they are questioning you...

I don't know if anybody's interested, but the guy now has a red 2008 Altima coupe in his driveway. It's very nice; it looks a whole lot like a G35.

I took a picture too in case you guys didn't believe me:

You can't see it in the picture but there's bird crap all over the car!

It took me several days to find this guys house. I found it based on the position of the sun in the original picture.

j/k I live really close by. I walk my dog to the park daily. He likes going down the playground slide (seriously).

BTW, my wife saw the G37 coupe last week too. I didn't. She said it looked like the 2007 G35 sedan except there was something funny about it. I guess she meant that it only had two doors.
