I highly doubt the 2009 Sedan wont be updated. If the release of this updated Sedan is being released in EU, know for sure it will follow suit in North America. Im sure Nissan doesnt design a specific wheel design just for Europe .

 

I agree. If anything, Europe would get the smaller motor and the USA would get the bigger one. As I believe insurance is based on displacement and the tendency for larger displacement engines to get worse mileage (gas is ultra expensive there)

 

No doubt we in the U.S. and Canada won't get the same version as the European G37, because the news releases say that it is being tuned for European driving conditions (and desires). However, I would guess that we will be getting an updated version in time to compete with the 2009 TL SH-AWD model release--sometime in late Spring or Summer.

That said, I don't regret getting my 2008 G35x last month. Even if the G37x were to have a more favorable power/weight ratio than the European version, it's not likely to make a big difference. I will miss the 7AT, which I'm guessing will be in our new version, too, as well as the "self-healing" clear coat.

But, just like new computer systems, the time to act is when you need to, not with every single improvement. If I wait three or four years before my next car, the technology will likely be more advanced. Or, maybe we'll all be using coal-fired steam engine's.

a lot of cars that come to the US have less features because people complain mostly about one thing: price.

i.e.-- the lexus ls460 has a long list of functions and features... and the top line kia that tops out at $40k in korea...
i'd love the 7 speed auto here

 

This will make a G35xS a rare vehicle. Only one year of production.

Having recently purchased a new 08, i am disappointed a bit, but more so because of the 7-speed tranny rather than the VQ37VHR. The 5-speed auto is solid but I think for better mileage and lower cruising RPM (I do alot of highway driving) make the 7-spd desireable from my perspective.

Otherwise, the VQ35HR already feels way better than the old VQ35DE...its all realitive, I guess.

 

If and/or when this car comes stateside my order is placed!

 

hmm looks like they will finally add pop up head light washers if you look at photo number 2 and it appears as if they changed the look of the air intakes on the sides of the front bumpers.

All this car need now is a heated steering wheel and side mirriors that automatically fold when the vehicle is parked and it would be near perfect.

I doubt that the motor will be detuned for the NA market

 

The headlight washers are usually strictly for non-USDM bound cars. The power folding mirrors are also only a JDM feature, since they have really tight spaces there.

 

Wonder what will happen to the G37 coupe IF the G37 sedan's VQ37VHR will not be detuned. I mean with the VQ35HR, we're already on par with the G37's acceleration. Infiniti can't have a sedan top their coupe, can they?

thats great stuff. and im happy the body style still looks the same as the 07 since ill keep this car until at least 2010 or 2011.

 

I agree with you 100%. The powerband on this car is great. Whenever you press the gas the car will go but the car revving so high gives it poor gas mileage. The 7spd would be great to have but oh well i will have to stick with the 5spd for a while

 

I just wish the current car had a 6 or 8 speed now. I would buy one...

Dang. Heated AND VENTILATED front seats. My 808 livin *** could use some of that. Something the M has that I always wish my G did. Heck even the IS and ES have ventilated front seats.
