gross misjudgment on your part. Oh well, we live and learn. I understand your curiosity though with no good experience behind the wheel in such a situation you should try to be more careful. Besides the obvious new rim looks like you'll need some suspension work.

Wow, old thread. You guys should really get some driving experience under your belt with RWD cars. The G is one of the easiest I've found to drive in a controlled slide. If you want to test out the capabilities relatively safely, I highly recommend trying it out at an autocross event. I've done a few in the G and with VDC off, all you have to do to keep the car controlled is counter steer and feather the throttle. If you want to break loose, you can mash it but as soon as you break the traction, feather the throttle to keep the rear in check. If you keep it mashed, you will lose control. If you start to get a little too aggressive of an angle, hit the brakes lightly. Even with VDC off, if you tap the brakes, it turns itself back on momentarily to help straighten you out.

Slamming on the brakes mid rotation will only make things worse BTW. Tap. It's all about right foot control.

I'll go out on a limb and bet the 08g35s got his wheel fixed in March 2009 when he posted this.
I can't believe tis one is still going.

Scuffed it up pretty nicely but thank god i didnt hit the front wheel. Needless to say i will never do that again haha
+1 Ended up with a whole new set of wheels and tires from eBay, and turned a profit on the whole thing

Not knocking you, but I completely disagree with this. The G rear end comes out unexpectedly, and way fast if you're not really careful. Car mags have commented on this too - it's easy to get to the wrong angle very quickly.

And no, that's not what happened to me, I had a different driver error

If the back end is coming out unexpectedly you are either one:
not smooth with steering wheel
2)coming in to turn to shallow and and over correcting
3)have tires that are not sticky enough
4)if it isn't in manual matic mode then you may upshift going in to turn and then when you power out the transmission downshifts two gears for you and then boom, there you spin, pick your gear before entering turn.
It is a fairly neutral car.
