Just had my steering wheel and door pulls replaced on the last day of my warranty. Pleasantly suprised as they were replaced with no questions asked.

Sorry to hear that, I would call back and try to get a different CSR person. They replaced mine under the goodwill assistance. I stated to them that this is my first Infiniti product but not my first Nissan product and they replaced the steering wheel and driver side door pull. However they would not replace the other door pulls and I am a little miffed about that but the replacement door part appears to have the same material as the original door pulls.

I have the same issue with the door pulls and I also noticed they appear to be the same material.

I think that's pretty unlikely that it is though.

I hope it is not the same as well but damn it feels the same. I fought pretty hard to get my other door pulls replaced due to info from other members stating that the door pulls are made of different material but after getting it replaced, the texture and feel of the new door pull feels exactly as the older ones. I wonder if the 08-09 had stone interior?

Passport Infiniti is replacing the steering wheel, should be in on Friday.

I cannot confirm whether or not mine are the same material or not, but they sure seem the same. I did have an 11' loaner for 5 days and I am certain that the replacement door pull in my car is definitely a different material than what is in the 11'. The 11' has a texture feel to it. My original and replacement is definitely more smooth.

My mother in law has an 09 37 sedan with stone interior, and it has the newer, non-chipping type door pulls. It is hard, textured plastic. The steering wheel is still the chipping type, and in fact just started chipping!

That would be weird to get replacement door pulls that were of the chipping type. It is possible they had some existing stock and you just got unlucky

FWIW, there are at least two different types of replacements for the door pulls.

One feels to be the same material as the peeling/chipping one from early '07s, but is not. It's from the '08.
The other is, as mentioned above, a textured hard plastic which is i believe from later years.

I have the driver side replaced under warranty with the former, and it hasn't chipped or peeled even after i tested a small section.

The first replacement you mention must be from later 2008s because I have an 08 and had the chipping. So it must have been a mid year change if indeed the one that looks/feels the same is actually better than the original.

I've found info, that now you can replace the trim on a steering wheel (not the whole assy!).

Part number of the RH Beige trim is: 48463-JK06B, 8$ cost!
