^^ Congrats on the goodwill; just goes to show that it never hurts to ask.

I bit the bullet and paid for the bezel trim/steering wheel replacement. My warranty expired in Dec. of '12 (own a 2008 G35x). They were going charge me $400-500 but I talked them down to $200 flat. Lot of money but I couldn't stand looking at the peeling anymore.

I got a quote from the dealer, was going to be 0.3 hr per door pull @ 98 per hour ($29) and 0.8 hr for the steering wheel bezel ($80). Decided to just perform the steering wheel bezel and do the door pulls myself. Then when I go drop the car off, guy tells me he would have thrown in the door pull but I've already changed the door pulls out! Only got ended up charged 0.7 hr for the steering wheel bezel ($70). Not bad spending about $80-90 replacing the steering wheel bezel including parts and taxes

Not talking about the steering wheel...but I just did my door pieces today. I called around and got quotes online for about $50 each delivered for part numbers 80960-jk60a (graphite) and 80961-jk60a (thats front driver and front pass part numbers). The rear prices were even more outrageous. Freaking pieces of plastic!

I already had the driver door piece off...said screw it! I peeled everything off with my thumb nail, used a nickel in other places...then sanded it with 1500 grit. Hit it with duplicolor trim paint oem black. Came out awesome! I already have the driver side back in. Looks 1000 times better than before. $6 bucks for the paint that could do 20 pieces, 30 minutes effort. Got the passenger side drying right now

Did someone post a paint stick that might cover up minor scratches? I've searched all over this forum without luck. Mine only has one major scratched area under the left side spoke, a common area. Thanks for any leads here.

Infiniti service advisors not very thorough

Last year, I went to get new tires at my Infiniti dealership. My service advisor noticed some things wrong with my car that are covered under 60,000 or 4 year warranty. My car had 40,000 miles but was 5 years old. The things he mentioned were rear cup holder broken, door pulls have peeling paint, steering wheel cover is starting to peel and the cluster lid behind the steering wheel too. He said that had I come in earlier during the warranty period, they would have replaced all that free of charge. I know I was there earlier during the warranty period and complained about the cup holder. I didn't complain about anything else at that time because I thought they were cosmetic problems that would not be covered under the warranty. My advisor at the time did not inspect the inside of my car like the different advisor did that day otherwise he would have told me I could get them replaced free of charge. Also, when they were doing software updates for my car, they sent me a post card about it. They never sent me any information about the KNOWN problems with the door pulls peeling paint, steering wheel cover peeling and the cluster lid behind the steering wheel peeling.

Welcome to G35Driver!

Sorry this happened to you, but were you just venting about it here, or did you have a question?

I'm venting and wondering if it's covered by any warranty now even though my car has a little over 40,000 miles.

No, it's definitely not; unless you get lucky and find a dealer who will replace them as a 'goodwill' gesture, you're out of luck.

Just got servicing done at Infiniti of Montclair, they replaced my steering wheel bezel and both rear door switch finishers out of good will. Total was just over $300 parts and labor that Infiniti absorbed. Helps to ask nicely and not push too hard, and while having other servicing. I'm out of warranty at 57K miles for my '08S.
