I know, but the rear trims still look good - not as much use. I'll order them when they need replacement. I thought about going ahead, but the rear were quite a bit more expensive than the fronts, so I'm going to wait until it's needed.

I have a brand new steering wheel trim that I was going to replace on the steering wheel but fortunately, mine steering wheel is being replaced by dealer no charge. IF you are interested PM me, I can sell you the steering wheel (with peeling trim) and brand new trim to replace, the steering wheel part number is 48430JK015. I hope one of you can use the steering wheel/trim plus you will have a spare wheel to play with before installing it.
Here's what the steering wheel looks after new bezel installed:

Hmm, that's surprising that your dealer is letting you keep the old chipped wheel. Usually they confiscate them. Also, if someone was going to remove their own wheel and replace the trim, why would they need your old wheel rather than just using the one they've already got to play with.

It gives you time to fix the steering wheel and allow the use of car and gives you insurance against screwup . I would always like the backup plan as it's not the easiest task most won't diy's will do. Good luck

This.

Usually, any part the dealer replaces under warranty needs to be sent back to the manufacturer (Infiniti in this case)

How did you pull off keeping the wheel?

Dealer can give it to you if they want to, generally it's true they don't, but I guess I got lucky and even got a steering wheel bezel - new (I paid for), I replaced it bezel and the str whl looks like almost new.

Good info!

It is interesting that nobody ever talks about the steering wheel back cover that they mention in there. The ITB clearly states the back cover as NOT being reuseable. Anybody have any direct input on the validity of that? since I can't recall it ever being mentioned as a common replacement to go along with the new finisher (front) piece.

Not sure why the ITB tells the techs to replace the back cover, there is no need.

I just replaced my own steering wheel trim two weeks ago and removed/replaced the back cover with no issues. Just be gentle with it.

Maybe the techs crazily rip them off? lol
