Here ya go. Nationwide Infiniti, Maryland, replaced the entire steering wheel no questions asked 1-month before the warranty expired. I suspect the problem was I was holding the steering wheel with my thumb pressed on the peeled spot instead of on the wheel. Still, that should not cause peeling.

Damn, I just found this thread and my wife's '08 G35S steering wheel looks just like the picture posted above. Unfortunately, it's out of warranty now. I may try to write a letter to Inifiniti. She only has 23,000 miles on the car.

My warranty expires in a month and half. The dealership told me today that since the chipped pieces could not be replaced w/out replacing the entire wheel they would not cover it under warranty. I waited and hour, called the service manager, was cordial but direct in the fact that this SHOULD be covered under warranty. He advised he would check into then called me back a couple of hours later and said they would replace it under warranty under what they call the "good will" warranty. Guess if you're nice, but also assertive you can get a more favorable answer. Btw, I also name dropped the forum and explained "everyone else" was getting steering wheels, which is almost true...

Glad you're getting your wheel replaced, but usually the "Goodwill warranty" term is used when you're getting warranty work performed AFTER your warranty has expired. If your bumper-to-bumper warranty hasn't expired, this item should be covered, it is obviously a defect. That's what I told my dealership when it was replaced. I mentioned that I would bring my 9 year-old Lexus and have them take a look at its steering wheel and see how something like this peeling problem shouldn't be an issue really in any car.

Driver's door around buttons replaced twice, passenger door and steering wheel once all under warranty...no issues, no problem.

Well since you seem to be the only member who was able to get one, how about getting a few more and re-selling to the rest of us?

We would surely pay you more than you paid. You could make a small profit and we would all be happy

For anyone else wondering where to get the trims PM Phil@OCInfiniti. Got mines a few days ago. My steering wheel looks great now. Felt great replacing my plasti-dipped one with the new trim!

^^ That's great news if Phil is indeed carrying them now. Perhaps a mod could verify this is true and then we ought to sticky this info!!
