2007 G35X AWD Suspension Upgrades
2007 G35X AWD Suspension Upgrades
Good Morning Folks,
I drive a 2007 G35X AWD sedan with 166K miles on it. I bought it used at 73K. I've installed a Stillen gen 3 long tube intake and an Ark grip exhaust system. Recently Ive noticed the drive is becoming harsh. To the best of my knowledge, no suspension upgrades/replacements have ever been done besides a wheel bearing or two. The car runs great and there's no major mechanical issues yet (fingers crossed).
I've gone thru a few of these threads for some guidance but I'm still in the weeds here. I'm not mechanically inclined but I prefer to buy parts myself and then have them installed (slightly cheaper). Eventually I'd like to start buying tools and working on the car myself but that's a way off (family, work, etc).
I want to keep this car for another 50k miles ideally. From what I've seen on these threads is that it's best to do a complete suspension overhaul at this mileage especially if everything is still original stock. I know I should replace the shocks and struts but I keep reading about control arms, bushings being worn, coilovers are cool, sway bars and so on.
Needless to say I jumped too far into the well and I need some guidance here. I see this as the last major upgrade I'd do on the car. I could afford maybe 1,500 to 2,000 on parts so what should I focus on here. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. I'll check it out more thoroughly this weekend. Only a few of the moog components looked pricey but overall they seemed reasonably priced.
Parts
Took your advice, kyb shocks on all four corners, moog control arms, upper arms, mounts, mevotech sway bar links, and a hotchkis sway bar kit. The only major component I didn't purchase were new springs. My main question is whether it's necessary. The car appears sag a touch in the rear but all four springs appear to be fine. So would you replace the springs since I'm gutting everything else anyway and if so, what kind? Im not opposed to lowering the ride but I want to maintain a decent clearance. Thanks!
I've looked around at numerous G35 sedans and have come to the conclusion that they just look that way. This summer when I have her torn apart for engine work I'm planning to also replace all my shocks and install 20mm spacers for the springs and shocks on the back. This will even out the fender gap, which just looks goofy at this point.

I have an 08 running with literally stock suspension and just an upgraded 370 Nismo RSB and the car corners so much better

If you add a thicker front bar it’s just gonna make it understeer more.
No oversteer with the NISMO RSB?
