There are 9 screws on the Bank 1 cover and number 9 is still hidden by that bracket you have to take off.

thanks thanks!! From the diagram, looks like number 9 is what I haven’t gotten off. I never knew there was one screw in the middle of the cover.

So for figure 4 on the instructions the harnes simply pulls out of the external plug? I see no type of release tab on mine. Just wanna be sure i don't break anything

Brad, I’m Not sure what you mean. The blue connector is just a pass thru connecting the magnet to the harness outside the cover. The magnet connects to the blue connector on the inside of the cover. See fig 11

Correct. I can't get the plug coming from the magnet to release from the pass thru

Scratch that. Finally got it loose. Just wasn't pulling hard enough for fear of breaking something

Yep, I don’t remember disconnecting mine, so I would have been of no help there. There is a tightening order of the screws on the cover so during reassembly be aware.

Any chance you could show me the swivel head you used to get the two bolts that hold the PS pump bracket the timing cover bracket? I’m losing hope smh. There’s no room there to do anything

Talking

yes, its very tight in there. I did have to bend that shield out of the way a little bit and I moved the PS pump up and out of the way. I used a 1/2" drive with a long extension then the swivel then the socket. I can try and recreate it later this evening and take a pic but that's it in a nutshell. Don't feel alone, I cussed at those two bolts and the design engineers for a couple of hours before I got them off. Your almost there, forge on.

Thanks for the encouragement, I’m this close to giving up. I’m going to get the 1/2” wrench plus a swivel socket set and continue tomorrow maybe. I’ll be looking on the thread for the picture. Thanks again

Sorry, got busy last night and didn't get a chance to upload a pic of the 1/2" drive setup. I'll make another attempt this afternoon, if you still think it would be helpful.

Yes that’s alright and yeah please upload when you have the chance. I’m even getting fed up. There’s a metal plate with 3 screws, I managed to get two off and bent it to make some room but then there’s another harder metallic plate (connecting to I think the back of the alternator, Im not sure) that’s difficult to bend. Wish I could cut if off

I might suggest at this point you down load the service manual and follow the removal steps. I ultimately did this and the information was helpful.
