Looking to buy a G37 Coupe. NEED HELP!
Please convince me why i should buy a 08-12 G37!!! I need some confirmation that this is a good car that's reliable and will last.
I'd rather find one that has around 90k-110k miles but if someone can tell me that getting a less expensive G37 with 125k miles is just as good then i'd rather go that route.
The difference is paying around $12k for one with around 100k miles or spending $7k - $9k for one with 125k-135k miles.
Please help!

It's all about how it was maintained and driven at this point. The 90k mile one might be a ticking time bomb (not the drivetrain, but everything else) if the owner has been abusing it but the 125k daily owned by the middle aged car nut's wife might be in perfect condition ready to go another 125... All the motors are reliable as long as you don't get one with the oil galley issue or it's been fixed properly (IDK the years but Cleric does )

Lol it's NEVER been fixed, it's just a lot less prevalent on the VHR motors. There is an "A" revision gasket that was used on the HR motor and a "B" revision composite gasket that was used on the VHR. I think Concept Z makes their own gasket that is superior to the OEM ones, I don't know if it's still the case but you couldn't order those gaskets separately through Nissan, they were part of an entire kit for the timing cover. Even brand new 3.7L motors have that gasket fail occasionally.

The problem isn't even the gaskets sometimes, Nissan needs to use loctite on those fasteners holding it down because sometimes they're just coming loose on their own and the gasket is still fine. iirc factory spec torque is 10ft/lbs and it's recommended to increase that torque to 12 ft/lbs.

The 2008 X Sedan for $10k at Car Expo doesn't even include an engine bay shot and the rest of the photo's are grainy and placed at odd angles likely to hide something. I would steer clear of that one...
The 2009 pre-facelift RWD sedan for $8k looks ok, higher miles but it looks clean. I would take that one into Nissan/Infiniti for a pre-purchase inspection. Being a pre-facelift means it will be much less expensive but you won't have a lot of the nicer/newer interior fitment or the newer headlights and exterior styling.
The 2010 coupe RWD for $11.5k looks good, fair price but it's NOT a sport package so you won't get the big brakes, VLSD, etc. Looks clean and for the miles it's a fair price, I'd take it to Nissan/Infiniti for a pre-purchase inspection as well.
