did you see a difference in flow between the 2.75in and the 3in?
I tested 2.5" and 3". 2.75 is a oddball diameter tubing that would be a lot harder to source and would unfavorably affect cost.

Also do you have any plans to make a properly matched set of long tube headers to boost lower rpm power and also start the pressure wave benefit closer to the exhaust ports?

Headers may come later. For the most part headers don't do much on this engine but... if good results are possible, I'll find it.

Sorry for posting about this again but will getting the XYZ pipe for my JIC show noticeable gains over my custom y-pipe?

You would need to dyno it to know.

Tony, I know you are offering single and dual exhausts but which config showed the best overall gains? (given the same tube dia)

Your conclusions mirror mine in terms of what the Borla sedan true dual is lacking for maximum power/torque. ie.. x-pipe at the Y collector. Would also be one reason why Klubb had great success with his custom. TD with resonated X at the Y collector and another as a muffler at the end. (power and quiet sound)

Single or Dual - In all of my testing, they yeild pretty much the same gain if done properly.

In studying the Stillen TD and Bora TD (for the sedans), the Stillen unit seemed to dyno a tad better. My theory is that the Stillen featured an X pipe where the two downpipes normally collect (Y collector). I always thought this was probably what made the hp/torque diff inbetween the two. I also think any TD should use some type of X collector if possible (resonated or not). For good power/torque and sound, a TD featuring a resonated X at the Y collection point and one out back as a muffler could very well be wise choice.

Thoughts?

Tony i read that you can have a catalytic y-pipe and that will help us test pipe guys but the only problem is how pricey will it be? Because when i was choosing HFC's or TP's, the biggest reason why i got resonated test pipes and not HFC's was because of the huge price difference.

I havn't fully worked out pricing yet. What are typical cats going for these days? Or at least the range?

EDIT:
Metallic cats.

Thinking of adding the magnaflow resonated X to the Borla TD (sedan). Aft of the cats but before the resonators. I'm hoping this will improve sound and more importantly low end torque.

Good move Tony?

What diameter inlets will be on the X muffler and how far back will it be from the cats?

As for sound, it will certaintly smooth out any rasp, but there is an increased risk for drone.

Drone is unlikely but possible.

You won't know untill you try.

According to Borla, their systems feature a 2.25" pipes. here's a picture:

I'd replace their non-X pre-muffler (cats back section) with a resonated X from Magnaflow. In a matching 2.25" size.
