Any idea of when you might have the exhaust ready for testing? Just being curious... my schedule will get busier starting late August. Though I'll definately make room being one of the first G35's on trying out this exhaust since you kindly offered

Also, not sure if it matters to you, but im almost full NA. I'm just one mod (MREV2 and a tune) away from it. I don't think I'll have the tune anytime soon... but the MREV2 should be on my car very soon.

I'm more interested in what this exhaust might do for a full NA VQ35 than a stock one. Ill try to be as neutral as possible and not have any sort of expectations. I'll just let the dyno show what it has to offer. I'm sure its tough improving performance on an exhaust for the VQ considering there are alot of companies out there who have already done their part. But if anyone can do it, im sure Motordyne can.

I just spent, hours reading through this thread.......that's what I get for not being on the site for a long time.

So if I'm understanding correctly I can get the XYZ pipe for now, won't get much gains unless I do some HFC's or test pipes, then I can continue to add to it as the exhaust components become available. So I can sorta peice it in, in stages, is that right?

Yea that is correct. And after you have the xyz installed you can add Y-back (from the Y pipe back) components very easily.

I'll be going TP's -> XYZ -> SUPERSECRET MOD HERE?! -> Resonator -> Single Exhaust when its available.

Harakiri!

Harakiri!!!

Here are some previews of some Ti tips and the Harakiri muffler.

For the Harakiri Ti muffler, there will be a completely different kit than Shockwave. The Harakiri as a kit will be listed at ~$900 configured with the muffler in the back and a midpipe with no resonator. (Similar to the JIC.)

The Shockwave has a large resonator with no muffler and, as a kit, will be listed ~$600.

The parts are interchangable with eachother so there are a number of different sounds possible. From nicely muffled to very loud.

Especially when you consider the XYZ modular options and other mufflers comming out there will be many, many different sounds possible.

Below are the pictures where the camera doesn't do justice. On the Harakiri muffler, the colors shift slightly with view angle.

Harakiri and everything else Titanium will be available for the 350Z, G35 and G37.

Tony - when would you estimate having a system ready for the 1st generation sedan? I love the plenum spacer and am excited about the exhaust system(s). From all I have read I would be most interested in the Y-pipe --> resonator --> VQ muffler but will withhold my final decision until you have the chance to post sound clips and dynos.

I know you have a ton of stuff going on... just hoping for a rough estimate. 1, 2, 3 months until the first system comes out? I would certainly understand if it took longer but I am just trying to do a little planning here since I am just about positive that a MotorDyne exhaust system is in my future.

Hey, you definately cannot go wrong with Fast Intentions. But I agree, Tony's new exhaust is very tempting.

I guess I will make up my mind once he lets me beta-test it... it's hard for me to think about going with any other exhaust than my current setup. But Tony's new exhaust comes very close. Overall, performance might be the determining factor

.
