different engine design.. ESPECIALLY on the inside, retooled and beefed up to handle the higher revs.

Do we have any idea who that might be? I think at least a handful of people would love to know how hard the install was, what problems were encountered, and how the install affected vehicle performance.

Everywhere I've asked about this (my350, chicagoz, I think a thread on here too) I've been shot down.

Folks are telling me to steer clear bc this mod is more work and $$$ vs the overall results

I'm curious to know what's happening and what kind of gains are to be expected from someone who's actually done it who can share their expertise

you're referring to the Z OEM header installation?

hmmm... I've been waiting for feedback on this install also...

Yeah. We're curious to find out how the HR headers perform on the DE motor and if its worth obtaining them or not.

FWIW, here is a picture of the stock y-pipe off my 07 sedan:

Floor tiles are roughly 16" square.

L.O and Terry, nice finds. For some reason Terry, my Y pipe looks a lil different than yours. Its not copper looking for sure and I don't recall those extra grove sections on the bottom tubes.

I'm going to dig for my pics somewhere on this computer and see if I can find them. My pipe looks just like Dave's on page one.

I wonder if there's a performance difference between the 2 HR Pipes (G37 vs. HR350Z) and why Nissan chose to differentiate the design somehow on the long shoots

looks like the hr g35 sedan ypipe is much longer, maybe due to the sedan being longer in lenght than the 350z

I have a feeling they are closer than that. Assuming Dave's work bench is 36" from the ground ... the Y-pipes are pretty close to being the same overall length ... but the HR sedan has more expansion joints.

I'll dig my stock exhaust manifolds out of the garage and take a few pix of those as well for kicks.

Please do! Wish we could do a side/side comparison between both HR Y Pipes

that's actually a sweet lookin' Y-pipe... doesn't seem to have as much heat shielding though as the 07 HR Y-pipe we all have...?

I'm not convinced the HR sedan Y-pipe will work. It looks a lot different than the Z's.
