Cool. I'm at 30K right now on my 05. I don't think I'll have the same issue you mentioned earlier on page 20. I'll still check anyway though when we have it all apart

I installed the HR Y-pipe yesterday. Like everyone said, nothing major, but there is a difference. The car feels like it is climbing the RPMs quicker/easier.

I was gonna install my test pipes as well, but I wanted to see the difference of the HR Y-pipe first, and I couldn't figure out how to remove the O2 sensors. Haha.

You need a special socket with a slot, due to the wire.

you can use a 22mm wrench for the 02 sensors. its called an 02 sensor socket.

that works, this might work a bit better because of the tight clearance.

It should be metric, as ELMACHOGERACHO said you could also get a wrench on there. I said socket cause most people dont have big wrenches but do have a rachet.

7/8" is about the same as a 22mm so I don't think it matters. Also, the one in the link he showed me is a socket, not a wrench.

Anyway, I found this at Harbor Freight for $4.

Also, does anyone know if the Megan Racing V2 test pipes need non-foulers? They look like they already have an extended O2 sensor bung. I tried to make my own non-foulers, but when I tried to drill one of them with a 1/2" bit, my drill kept getting stuck/stopping.. probably because it's a cheap one.

Thanks guys!

So...I pulled the Y pipe off my car tonight whilst doing an 05-06 midpipe swap...turns out (or so it seems--pics to come tomorrow) that the 05+ sedans have the nicer Y-Pipe also!

DEFINITELY a FAR nicer feel when driving, and a MUCH lower exhaust note in the lower RPM's

As for your installs, keep us posted!

Are you also installing a K&N Filter and Revup Airbox as well? If you are, I'd recommend resetting the ECU. If not, I'd hold off until you do.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the only difference between both the gTube and zTube was the resonator in the gTube causing it to muffle the induction sound coming from your motor.

I'm not sure if it adds any additional horsepower or gains. What I am aware is if you do add the zTube, K&N filter and revup airbox you will notice some kind of gains.

If you were installing all of those at the same time I would reset the ECU.

Is your HR-Y Pipe in yet?
Should i reset my ECU? I have a Z tube, JWT Pop Charger, 5/16th MD spacer, HR y pipe, coupe midpipe and an HKS axle back

Yup. The midpipe was the only difference I knew of, so I was swapping just for that. But when I saw the Y pipe i said "YAHTZEE"
