Went for a ride in my buddy's G coupe with test pipes to see how the smell of fumes is. Wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Now I'm looking forward to your new TP's to switch out my HFC's .

All "catback" exhausts by definition are CARB and smog legal.

Test pipes and aftermarket HFC's are the ones that can cause problems.

^^^ passing sniffer with HFC shouldn't be a problem (even in CA)... passing visual will be.

I don't know how people with HFC are passing smog in CA unless they are paying under the table... I have never had a smog inspection where they did not look under the car for altered cats (and I've had lots of smog inspections). Unless your cats look OEM (like Crawford) there's a good chance they will not pass you when they see it (yes I speak/type from experience).

Your best bet (to be on the safe side) is to re-install OEM cats before smog. Lets face it, that's only after 6 years (if you buy new) and every other year after that... no biggie.

Correct, the exhaust is not an emissions device. The only parts that would factor into smog control are the cats/headers/02 sensors etc... (on our cars)

^ I'm pretty sure you have to replace the straight pipe in between the mid pipe and the tip to the new one.

Or in my case, the new pipes will replace my gamma mufflers.
