Does the replacement of armrests and steering wheel by dealers only done as part of the bumper-to-bumper warranty period?

If not covered by the dealers, has anyone covered the parts with Di-noc or other carbon-fiber material?

Just got my steeringwheel and shift **** replaced under the manufactures warranty because of scratches. the leather doesn't seem as soft as the other..and i'm questioning it if it's even real leather??? it's really rough!

I came back from Riverside Infiniti today.
I asked for other warranty works in addition to steering wheel / door panel.

They are way more than COOL
No question asked, no hassle what so ever. Everything was covered under the warranty. Well, I have to go back since Riverside didn't have steering wheel which they ordered for me.

I am very impressed the way Riverside Infiniti handles warranty work.
No wonder why every forum member give two thumbs up to Riverside Infiniti.

has anyone with an '07 getting this replaced under warranty asked them to replace their peeling steering wheel and door handles with the newer parts from an '08 to avoid having to do this again since it has the better material? or are the replacement parts now fixed?

07 08 are the same interior pieces. 09 has the better quality door handle cover but they wont fit the 07-08. we are stuck with the oem painted pieces. infiniti had this in mind i guess and when the model changed in 09 to g37 they also change the door panel so slight that you wouldnt notice if you werent told.

click on link and notice parts 36-37 (G35)

Is it possible to disassemble the steering wheel and cover the trim around the buttons with Di-Noc? Or cover the door handles with Di-Noc or leather?

Last Thursday I took my 07 G35 Sedan in to see if Sewell Infiniti in Dallas would replace the peeling steering wheel and door/armrests under warranty.

Not only did they do that, but pointed out that the left side of the dash, above the speedometer, was starting to come up. This is apparently an issue which they have been seeing. They replaced it under warranty.

I now have a brand new steering wheel which has a different material, as well as new door grips with a non-scratch material.

The new steering wheel is definitely rougher to the touch, but is similar to the steering wheel in the 2010 G37 sedan they loaned me.

So, if you're in Dallas and you're under warranty (I had 1,000 miles left), take your vehicle to Sewell. The service there is unmatched.

On a side-note, I didn't like the new G37 sedan very much. It's supposed to be faster, but something about the way the auto seemed slower. It didn't have that 'oh $(#!' factor when accelerating. Regardless, I'm glad to have my baby back and looking like new!

Why is this post in "Tech Area"?

And yes, I definitely liked the feel of the old steering wheel better, but it is nice to not have to look at the chipping/peeling paint from the old one.
