If I were to do this but also put in a switch would it work just like the map lights? Turn on and off automatically with the car, but also turn on any time with the switch?

I switched my dome lights to 6LED SMTs from vleds. MUCH MUCH MUCH brighter and better than the previous 9LEDs I had installed.

OMG, I found the exact LED that use on that one but this one has either 16 or 20 LEDs . Talk about blinding someone eyes.

The lights will turn itself OFF (about ~15 - 30 sec) after you close the doors.

I have a question, when doing this did you guys have to take off the center console and shifter console?

If you are only putting the CCFL on the front (driver & passenger) sides, then you don't need to take off the center console & shifter console.

Just tap the red [+] & black [-] wires from the CCFL adaptor to Red/Black [+] & Purple/Red [-] wires from the BCM box under driver side (see image below). Slide the 2nd CCFL to the passenger side from under. You will figure it out when you go under the driver side.

Here is my driver side (as you can see on the right I put the wires & CCFL adaptor/transformer behind the carpet)

Both front lighted up

Just follow this Steve (Deftronix) step by step instructions. Good luck!

I cant seem to locate this harness. None of the harness in the BCM looks like this one. I have 03 cope 6spd. I located the purple/red and red/black wires. But they are in slots of harness compared to the pic shown. So does the wires colors vary from year to year? Or are they all the same and I just have to tap into the wires that are that color? thanks
