Or are they all the same and I just have to tap into the wires that are that color? thanks

Good Qustion.
I think Deftronix has 04 or 05 G35, so his BCM Harness is different than yours ( I too have the 03 coupe)

Simply just tap the purple/red and red/black wire then you are done!
Good luck

ok, so i finally got around to install these lights but went a different route and installed it with a switch. as for the switch location, i took out my cig. lighter plug, and installed the switch in the cig lighter housing which was a perfect fit (of course i took the plug off from the cig lighter). so no wires show, and the switch looks perfectly snug. i like~

You can just tap the wires from the Dome Light and solder them.
Then you don't need to use a switch. In this setup, you can either control the ON & OFF or just set it as AUTO from the Dome Light switches.

I will post a video of my revised setup tonight. Thanks to ImSteveO for the directions.

Does the newer G35 sedan have a dome light too?
If so, you can do it.

Here is the video of my revised LED under glove.

<embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i170.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid170.photobucket.com/albums/u266/2K6G35/DIY/OUTPUT_MVI_6823.flv">

As you can see from the video, the blue LEDs are automatically ON/OFF when I open/close the doors. I control the AUTO ON/OFF from the Dome Light switch. I also can turn them ON/OFF by pushing the left side dome light.

Seemless setup!!

I've attached the pics for my setup. first pic is with the lights on, second is a pic of the switch when its on and the third pic is a daytime shot of the switch in the cig. lighter plug. This setup was actually very easy, no cutting no nothing, the switch fits perfectly in the cig. lighter plug, you just have to disconnect and remove the power plug.
