1. Disclaimer: As an Amazon Associate, the links to items on Amazon may earn me a referral credit. If you want to avoid this, search the exact item model #s elsewhere. I don't mind or care, but it lets me rent some movies each month, which is cool.
2. Check the Requested Contributions Post and cover the ones you can as you install.
3. Click the "Thank" button at the bottom of this post.
4. Help out anybody in your area with their install. It's a good way to save a G35Driver a buck or two.
5. If you are replacing broken components you do not want anymore, and do not want to try to sell for a few buck in the marketplace, contact me via PM. I can always use another headunit or trim to try new techniques to create more useful guides (such as the false face plate to protect your new radio).
2003-2004 Coupe, 2003-2004 SedanKeeping bosᴇ Amp in RED and ALL other applications in BLUE, required for both in BLACK:
1. Mᴇtra 40-NI10 - AM/FM antᴇnna adapter.
2. Steering Wheel Interface: - Use the Mᴇtra Axxess ASŴC-1 for EVERYTHING except for the X920BT, Z110BT, Z120BT or Z130BT - for those models the PAC SWI-PS will let you map a button to the voice command feature. (Instructions for installing the ASŴC into a G35 can be found here.
3. PAC ROEM-NIS2 (see FAQ) or Mᴇtra 70-7550 (Non-bosᴇ) Wiring Harness.
4. A double din trim kit. If you have factory navigation, you can go with the Mᴇtra trim and modify it (modification instructions in the FAQ section), or go with the unmodified JDṂ Trim, if you do not have factory navigation, either the JDṂ Trim or the Mᴇtra Trim can be used without modification. A comparison between the two can be found in the FAQ Section.JDṂ Trim:
Nissan part number for A/C Controls: 27500-AL501 (No dual option, but can be modified to use dual feature)
Nissan part numbers for dash kits: 68260-AM914 (WILLOW), 68260-AM913 (BLACK), 68260-0304TC (TITANIUM)
2005-2007 Coupe, 2005-2006 Sedan Keeping bosᴇ Amp in RED and ALL other applications in BLUE, required for both in BLACK:
If you have factory navigation, you use the Navigation Aluminum JDṂ Trim. The the Non-Nav Aluminum JDṂ Trim can be modified, but it's no cheaper than the navigation trim, so unless you get a great deal on the non-nav trim used, buy the Navigation Aluminum Trim. If you do not have factory navigation, there are three trims to choose from, the JDṂ Trim, Mᴇtra Aluminum and the Mᴇtra Plastic Trim. A comparison between the three can be found in the FAQ Section.JDṂ Trim:
Nissan Part number for Navigation Aluminum Trim 68260-7W010
Nissan Part number for Non-Nav Aluminum Trim 68260-7W000
Nissan Part number for Single-Zone AC Controller 27500-AC500
Nissan Part number for Dual-Zone AC Controller 27500-AC505
This is for basic installation only (re-using stock speakers or bosᴇ amp to power stock speakers). If you are adding an aftermarket amp, there's too many variables to cover here, but wiring this way shouldn't conflict with an aftermarket amp installation later. 2006 and newer vehicles do not send the dimmer signal to the radio, so that feature will be non-functional unless you get that signal from another source.
What's the M39 Harness/What wires on it are for steering wheel control? This is the M39 harness. Yours may have less wires if you don't have factory navigation.
This is the M39 harness for cars without factory navigation.
Where can I tap the reverse signal for a camera? This is where the wire is. In the COUPE, it is PURPLE, in the SEDAN, it's ORANGE. It's in the driver's kick panel, here: The reverse wire can be found by the driver's dead pedal, or, just use the wire going to the reverse lights in the trunk.
Do I need a new bracket? No, the factory bracket is re-used and will hold any aftermarket double-din. New holes may need to be drilled into it to make placement of the radio optimal (see flush mounting in the above post), but a new bracket would only give extra identical parts.
If I am getting a insert brand/model here, I can just stick to the 70-7551 and have no issues? The type of radio does not matter, it's the bose amplifier that causes the problems. The 70-7551 should only be used if you're adding an aftermarket amplifier and don't want to run RCAs from the headunit to the trunk. Use the 70-7550 or PAC ROEM-NIS2 in all other cases. See the next question for details.
My installer said the Metra 70-7551 wiring harness is the right one, why do I need the PAC ROEM-NIS2 to keep my Bose amplifier? Can't I use the 70-7551 or 70-7550?The Bose amplifier expects a differential-balanced signal. Aftermarket headunits do not output this signal. Almost all people, including professional car audio installers, have extremely poor sound levels, lack of bass, or extreme amounts of noise. If you use the PAC ROEM-NIS2, you're guaranteed to have spent about $40, but it has overwhelmingly reproduced the audio quality the vehicle had before. If you try and use the 70-7551, you have a small chance to save about $30-40, but if it doesn't work, you'll have to remove the 70-7551, wait for the ROEM-NIS2 to ship to you, or go to the audio shop and pay full retail ($60+ usually) for the ROEM-NIS2, then you'll have to completely rewire the harness again to use the ROEM-NIS2. Including the drive and shopping, you're looking at adding two or more hours to your install. If you're so broke that the price difference between the 70-7551 is worth that time and hassle, you probably should be driving a bicycle.
Since there are several different brands who make equivalent adapters to the 70-7551, it looks like this: Metra 70-7551 wiring adapter
While the ROEM-NIS2 looks like this: PAC ROEM-NIS2 adapter

If I add an A/C controller with dual climate control in my non-dual climate car, will I get dual zone A/C?No.
Is there a rosewood double din kit?
No. The rosewood trim was not an option for the Skylines that are the only reason we have aluminum double-din dashes. But there is one way, if you're handy with a dremel, and buy a JDM DD A/C controller, you can get something like this:
Can I modify the stock trim instead of buying the JDM?
Yes, but you'll still need the climate control piece. See the rosewood trim modification above for the post that details the modification process.
Do I need to buy the A/C controls too, can't I re-use them?Yes, you need the controls, no, you can't re-use your stock ones: https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...ontroller.html But that's an 03/04 and I have an 05-07, Do I need to buy the A/C controls too, can't I re-use them?

Are you positive about the Metra 70-7550 Wiring Harness for 2005-2007 coupe. I heard it is suppose to be the Metra 70-7551 Wiring Harness and not sure if this is correct? Also, if I have replaced the amp, then I guess there is no need for the PAC ROEM-NIS2?

The difference between the 70-7551 and 70-7550, is that the 70-7551 includes RCA inputs to connect to an aftermarket headunit's low-level RCA line outputs instead of the normal wires which connect to the amplified side of the aftermarket headunit. If you're installing an aftermarket amp, you'll be running your own RCA wires from the deck to the sub, so there's no need for the RCAs on the 70-7551 vs the 70-7550. They'll both work, but it lets me cover both options with a single shopping list. You need one of them, but which one really doesn't matter.
Yes, if you replaced the amplifier, you do not need the PAC ROEM-NIS2. You will have to run your own signal wires to the amp instead of re-using the Bose wiring, but that's in your best interest anyway.

id like to know to i just bought a kenwood ddx6019, jdm double din housing, image dynamics 6.5 component speakers and jl coaxials and i have a kicker 750.1 and 650.4. Do i need to purchase the Metra antenna adapter and which wiring harness do i need? Thanks
Thanks Wrathernaut! So i should purchase the 70-7551 right and not the 7550?
Either will work for replacing Bose headunit and amp.
The 70-7551 can connect to the RCA outs on your new amp and send the audio signal back through the factory wiring, but it's highly recommended that you run your own RCAs from the new headunit to your new amp. The 70-7551 only sends four channels to the rear, so if you're going to take advantage of dedicated subwoofer channels from the deck, you have to run a pair of RCAs anyway, and if you're running one pair, you might as well run three pairs, since it's only slightly more work when you've got all the trim out of the way for running the first pair. You can just not use the RCAs on the 70-7551 and run your own anyway, but then you've got even more connectors to tuck and hide back there in addition to everything else.
The 70-7550 doesn't include RCAs, you're forced to do the right thing and run your own signal wires from the new headunit to the new amp.
And again, for simplicity of the list, of New HU + Bose Amp or everything else, I created the list the way I did.
Great information listed in here, cleared up a lot of my questions. But I do have one more, has anyone done a clean install with the factory rosewood dash? I have yet to find somewhere that sells the rosewood double din, does it even exist?
