Personal experience says its a long and hard road but if theres no sludge or signs of improper care there could be a possibility

I have a 07. 5at with 40k and after 2 months without my G i got a new block

The point is, there is MORE oil to keep things cool.

BTW, I think that is only a problem with the oil pan SPACER.

Its a long shot but you can take it to the dealership and get them to chnge your oil and start a OC test

Worst thing is they could tell you no then at least you know, best of luck you will need it

6MT Coupe
Powertrain warranty is 6yrs/70K miles which ever comes first. A 2004 is out of warranty even if it only only had 30K miles on it.

You don't have a Rev-up motor so it might be harder to do so. However if you can afford extended warranty, get it through Courtney, they have the best deal! (link below)

I'm getting the extended warranty and then taking my car in for the problem. I have a rev up motor though...

Good luck!

Getting new block

05 MT coupe with 69~70K miles.
Went back after 1K miles and oil dropped 18mm.
Getting new short block.
I requested Long block, but they will only do the short since that's what the TSB says.
They "say" they will look at the whole engine to replace other parts that might have been damaged but I don't trust KM Infiniti that they will do that.

The reason I requested a long block was because I recently found out about my oil consumption problem at my last oil change and about 2 weeks before my last oil change, my car must have been running on ZERO oil and my car kept heating up for 2 weeks and I couldn't figure out why until I went in to get my oil change. Now, even with the last oil change, my car over heats and when I went in for the oil change, they told me I had no oil in the car.

Is there anything I can do to get the whole engine replaced? I called Infiniti Consumer Affairs and they told me it is up to the dealership. Today they ordered the short block, but I don't trust my dealership when they "say" they will check out the whole engine...

Wish I had gotten that extended warranty instead of this useless scam from the used car dealer

This is a loooong thread. And I'm sure, somewhere deep inside it this question has been answered. But I've got an 06 6MT coupe. I'm the third or fourth owner. Bought it at an Infiniti dealership. It has 89k miles on it. It is now burning oil. About a quart every 1500 miles.

It is out of warranty on time and miles.

So the question is, does Infiniti do anything for you if the warranty is gone?

A quart every 1500 miles sounds normal.

No warranty, no work.
