Thanks guys im glad I ended up getting approved! As far as I know im the first non rev-up to receive a replacement due to OC
it was amazing that I would burn 2quarts in less than 1000miles and only 38K on the motor

I am not sure if you noticed but the numbers I posted were in KM's & L's. If you were to convert the values, I am burning about 0.7Qrt's per ~620 miles. That put's me at about 1Qrt of oil per 887 miles.

According to your statement, this easily puts me within range to have an engine replacement.

For people who live in the Bay Area, which dealer do you guys think is more friendly? Pleasanton or Beshoff in San Jose? Or is there another one that gives a greater chance on the consumption swap?

^Since Brian at Beshoff left, can't say now from the great experiences I've heard back in those days. No experience with Pleasanton. Mine was done at Neillo but that was back in 2008. Neillo did do a stellar job on my swap however, just be wise to normal OC testing games dealers play. Neillo played games back then, now...not a clue.

With 10 months on this site, you should know what it is by now.

It is a spacer that goes between the upper and lower intake manifold to allow the back two runner to breathe better. Better air flow = more hp.

I would remove the spacer and any other engine mods you've done. You don't want them to give you any reason to deny your claim.

Spacer increases air volume in the plenum.

When I reached home about 30 min later enjoying the fairly open highway while staying under 4k RPM there was no smell except that "new" smell.

I ordered at rear spoiler & USA Spec IPod interface, installing those will be my weekend fun.

I've put about 800 miles on the car since I've gotten it back the 2nd time.

I still smell that burning oil smell inside the car now that its getting cooler out and I've started using the heat in the morning, the burning oil smell is very obvious coming from the vents. Which leads me to leaving my windows cracked while driving to lessen the fumes.

Prior to the short block replacement I had OC but no oil smells.

I checked my oil and its 1/2 down the checkered part of the dipstick.

I'm pretty much disgusted at this point.

I'm starting a paper trail now which will begin with a letter to the service manager at the dealership. Expressing my dissatisfaction with what has been done to this point to the car. I feel like I took 3 steps back trying to get this resolved.

Should I contact Infiniti NA at this point or see if I can get a long block from the dealer?

I'm taking the car back to the dealer tomorrow for a OC test #2
Also to have the check out the oil fumes coming into the cabin when using the heat.

What's funny is I always wanted a G/Z I finally go around to getting one and I have to deal with this BS.
I figured since the model has been in production for years all the kinks were worked out NOT!!

I'll keep you guys informed.

Thanks!!

When they replace your oil to begin the test are they suppose to use 5w30 or 10w30?

^ When it involves oil consumption issues, it doesn't really matter which one of those.
