Infiniti Rev-Up Oil Consumption TSB

I'd say maybe just shy of that. Add 1/4 at a time until its in the sweet spot. And they were correct in saying it will be fine, just keep monitoring it as you are. A family friend who happened to be a SVC manager at Infiniti recommended checking between changes 1500 mi +/-

Hello everyone my 2006 6mt g35 started making ticking noises a couple of days ago. In neutral, if I rev it up to 1500-3000rpm the noise gets very loud. Also the noise is considerably noticeable at 1st-3rd gear. After I get her passed 3000rpm the noise goes away.
I've been trying to do some process of elimination in determining what this noise could be. At first I thought it was a heat shield that could have gone loose. Another thought came to mind that It may be my clutch/flywheel assembly. But reading through this thread far into the night got me worried, that it might be an engine knock. I myself am far from being an expert in these matters, so any help/input would be very well appreciated.
Here is a short clip of the noise coming from the bottom of the car.

Wow what a thread ... I just read the whole thing front to back.
Seems like activity died off around 2011 ... has everyone just sold off their cars or have the V2 engines been ok? I'm still reading through the other crosslinked threads so maybe I've missed something.
Many thanks to V35 Skyline GT, ZeeForce and others for contributing. At least I know about this for if/when I buy a G... It seems to me the way to shop for a used one is to get the maint history, run a leakdown test / compression check and do a UOA before purchase.
Also an extended warranty from Infiniti seems recommended. Unclear to me if you can buy this after the original warranty has expired. I'll be looking into that.
My understanding is the OC is due to rings, valve guides or both, along with a PCV valve possibly being stuck and excessive manifold vacuum. For the latter people have installed catch cans to reduce the amount of oil being sucked back into the intake.
Am I missing anything?

All of my current vehicles use some oil, but they're all over 100k. My Audi and F250 use about 1/2 to 1 quart between (5k mile) oil changes, the Subaru less. Usually depends on the driving. I don't mind some consumption, I just don't want to get a dud. Seems like I could figure that out with some testing before I buy.

My OC fluctuates. Recently, I did a 3k mile road trip on mostly highway (Some of that was on the Autobahn with steady speeds of over 120-130mph. Burned over a quart total in 3k miles, but...
On the Nurburgring, after 12 laps (some were hard), car drank over a quart. So 12.9 miles x 12 is about 150 miles of tracking in one day.
Not sure if 1 quart in 150 miles of hard driving is a lot, but it goes to show the OC is also dependent on hard you drive.
FWIW, I would have easily passed the OC test. LOL!
