Infiniti Rev-Up Oil Consumption TSB

Going in this morning for my first oil consumption test on my 2ND engine. The engine was finally replaced a month ago after consuming 3.5 quarts of oil in 2,500 miles. This new engine has 1k miles on it and has consumed 20MM of oil (on the DS).
Now I have to go through the whole consumption test again with the new engine. Splendid. So much for Infiniti/Nissan's Six Sigma principles.

That's what I thought too, but I called Infiniti consumer affairs to talk to them about it. They opened a 2nd file immediately and approved the consumption test.

Well...took it into the dealer today and I was just barely in the "No Good" range at 1500 miles. I was told they were going to call the Infiniti overlords and let me know. When i looked prior to the scheduled oil change and before starting the consumption test it was at the L end of dipstick (~3500 miles). I guess I am a bit hesitant hearing some of the mixed stories with the V2 to have a borderline engine that otherwise runs great pulled out. We'll see i guess. 26k on the clock, wish me luck.
I find it funny that my 210k 240 that i have beat the crap out of for 100k miles usually registers at the top of the stick each change. Gotta love those ka's haha
** Got the update today, since its on the edge of "good / no good" they want me to bring it back in after another 1000 miles. **

Just an update everyone I bought my g35 with 24k miles, I now just hit 39K. A few weeks ago I noticed a sound coming from the engine, (I change my oil myself) I found the oil to be down two quarts. I refilled it the noise went away, so i took it to infiniti.
They changed the oil and told me to come back in 1000 miles, today I got it tested and my oil didn't even register on the dip stick. I am now scheduled for an engine replacement next week.
I drive my car a lot and change the oil frequently, I always noticed it low when i changed the oil but not this bad.

I did check it on a regular basis, I actually checked it every couple of weeks due to this issue. It just happened to get worse over time in my experience.

I was actually down 2 quarts, I put two quarts in and it was at the normal level.
Then about a 1000 miles later my own test, It was down again. I then took it to Infiniti who changed the oil and sent me off for 1000 miles, 930 miles later it didn't register on the dip stick again.
I guess I could have checked my oil more often, however it doesn't defer the fact that it was burning oil since the beginning.
Either way new engine is on the way.
PS you are correct it takes approximately 5 quarts.
