Infiniti Rev-Up Oil Consumption TSB

Today was a splendid day.
Driving back from meetings in LA only to have my engine cease on me while driving in the left lane. Lost power steering, brakes, and engine function. Almost got rear-ended because it was like I hit a brick wall when the engine gave out. Let out the clutch and was able to make my way across 3 lanes of traffic on the 55 without getting hit and no brakes, power steering, or engine function.
Two tow trucks and 3 hours later, it was dropped off at the dealer. Dealer tried to tell me on the phone when I called that it was caused by water and I'd have to run it through insurance. They did a quick inspection when I got there and the engine & air intake were completely dry. The coolant reservoir was completely empty and the oil level was TBD due to being towed.
I'll find out tomorrow about the exact problems with the car, but I'm 99.9% sure that the 2nd engine failed with 3,007 miles on it due to oil consumption (again). The last read on the dip stick was 2 days ago: ~8-9MM from the end of the stick was all that was left.

I went to Riverside Infiniti and initiated an OC test.
Looks like I'll be have trouble claiming an OC test, since they OVERFILLED my oil.
According to the dipstick, the oil level is about 8mm above the "H" line!
So, I'll have to burn at least 16mm in 1000 miles to get approved. Even If I burn 12mm in 1k miles, I'll be 4mm short for approval. SUCKS!
My engine usually burns 12mm in 1k-1.5k.

Looks like I'll be have trouble claiming an OC test, since they OVERFILLED my oil.

i don't think u are suppose to touch it but... check this out.. i took it back after the first test, never touching the dipstick and it read FULL... and i was like.. awwww damn.. i don't have the OC problem... but then i thought.. hey... they didn't put a zip tie or anything to keep me from tampering.. how do i know if they OVERFILLED it or not.. so ... at 2000 miles i brought it back and it was low.. i was like.. welll.. cant be that low.. because it was full at the first test.. they said it was soooo low... that i needed a new motor.. no third test... ur not suppose to touch the dipstick or anything or else you can void the OC test...could be a way they do it...overfill ... then check at 1000... then check at 2000...

Over-filling IS one of the oldest tricks in Dealers book for this issue and then to be told and officially documented your VQ is fine when you come back. Another old common trick: They top you off when you return, THEN take official test reading after sitting per TSB = no issue...goodbye.
Watch your G like a hawk. Don't let it out of your sight. Funny how I qualified after keeping my G in sight after being played twice with what I just mentioned above. I requested test to continue, per TSB saying I had that option.
Dealers are dealers, no matter how nice they are. Be respectful and nice back, but don't trust them as far as you can throw them. Their head master mechanic is who played me, not the SA or the SM to my knowledge. But they all are in the same think tank during meetings, so who knows.....
