^ I'll can say is that the current replacement VQ #10102-AC7M9 became available back in June/July 2007.
If memory serves, the TSB only covers G's that were made prior to May 31st and that VIN you stated.

Pure assumption and guess here, but imo possibly they started using the #10102-AC7M9 VQ in production starting June1, 2007 where the TSB cut-off date is.
Just guessing but makes sense to me that's why the cut-off date and VIN range compared to when the revised VQ became available.

Hmm, I guess its a hit or a miss then, would suck to get a 06 g35 with oil consumption issues, although still under warranty it would be a PITA.

True statement...hit or miss with the revup VQ 6mt unfortunately. Roll of the dice, being I have an 06 6mt with moderate OC

Yup Infiniti amended theirs too, dated the same as 350Z one. ITB08-002a for Infiniti.
All they changed was the OK/NO GOOD chart.
They eliminated the 0-500 and 501-1000 mile replacement qualification columns.

Glex25, PM me or I think you know where to go for this TSB to post up as .pfd

Or here it is. Grab and put on your first post.

I just started the OC test with my dealer. I have only put 350 miles on it so far. They wanted me to come back at 1000 miles but I think I'll take it in at 1499......I'm still playing by the rules

What type of motor oil have your dealers been putting in during the OC tests? My dealer put in Mobil1.

My dealer put in Mobile 1 also back in October when i had the OC test done. I brought it in after 2000 miles and it was 2.5 quarts low. I just got the car back 2 weeks ago with the new motor and its running great.

Finally getting my new engine!

Took 5000 miles of tests to finally have a new engine.

I was doing the original consumption test and I was short 1 quart every thousand miles. On my 3000 mile test Infiniti switched the test and they were now measuring in mm. I was not tested at 3000 miles because I was having my oil changed and the original level reading was not documented.

I was told to wait and did, just returned from the oil consumption test and I was at 26mm below the original reading. Does anyone know what that is equal to in quarts?

I was told my reading was off the chart as it list up to 24mm if I remember correctly.

Do I get a new 60000 powertrain warranty?

Can I have a new clutch installed when the engine is being switched over?

I was wondering the same thing - how does mm equate to quarts low? And do I get a new powertrain if/when I get a new long block?

Smart way to play the TSB game. I'm playing like that too.

As far as what type on oil during OC testing, I've heard some use Synth and some insist on Dino. Got mine to use Synth, Castrol 5w-30.

The TSB shows how many mm's equal between H and L.
H to L = 1qt = 24mm's.

Talk to your SM about warranty. You don't get a new or extended by default with replacement. If you don't ask, no chance in possibly getting one.

Clutch...again talk to your SM. Since your VQ will be out, don't see why they can't do that. They might cut you a deal on clutch replacement labor hours too

So according to the TSB, the dealer considers an engine for long block replacement if it burns at least one quart in 3000-3500 miles? That's what I read from the oil consumption chart in the latest TSB.

^ That is correct. And if over 24mm down between 3501-3750mi, qualifies also.

GOOD??? I think you mean good for a new engine! That is a lot of oil to be burning up in 3000 miles. I hope a new engine is under your hood soon

Yep that's what I meant! Starting the OC testing soon so I'm thinking a new VQ35 would be really GOOD...!
