Infiniti Rev-Up Oil Consumption TSB

That is correct. Your measurements and the dealerships measurements may differ. Make sure they check it AND measure it in front of you.

thanks, I definitely will. Im running 10w30 also, so no telling how low it will get with 5w30 in it, I have also been told by my service advisor in the past that whoever owned the car before me had brought it in for a knocking under acceleration only to find the car had like a quart of oil in it. All they did was change the oil..so its in the system that the car uses a ton of oil..

So I did my oil check test. In about 1000 miles i was @ the middle of the dip stick..WOW! What alerted me was when i took the car in for its routine oil change. The tech told me why is your car so low on oil?
Mmmm you tell me this dealership did it last time.
Saturday I take it in for new oil and they will monitor it. If after 1000 miles the oil is low new engine.

Nothing on date you mentioned.
Last TSB date I see was on 6-29-10 which covers 2005-2007 G35's and 2008-2011 G37's. Only exception, a 7-16-10 for 2009 models only.
Checked recalls...nothing for 8-1-10.
I'll keep my eye out though if my resource updates their database.

2007, 6mt G35 coupe. The car failed the OC test today. The service manager said he'll replace the engine if have all the records of services for at least one year. Big problem thou, I don't know if the dealership i purchased this car will be able to get a hold of the previous owner and obtain the records. Bought this car at Chrystler dealership in May.

I only mention this because of this thread:

Long time ago that's what Infiniti/Nissan did...only shortblocks prior to the original TSB that gave longblocks.
My thoughts on that thread link: All I can say is my original heads on my original oil burner were built MUCH better than what they gave me with my TSB longblock replacement. Wish I still had those original heads and/or Infiniti had done this TSB procedure when I got my longblock back in mid 2008:

One service mgn at this dealeship said he wants to see records of services for at least one year. However, i called other dealership and they want to see all the records from the day of the purchase of the vehicle.

Before you go too far up your local dealership's patoot about this. Understand that Nissan USA has made this change, your local dealer seems to have very little ability to override Nissan's ruling. And if they did...it would most likely be at cost to the dealership itself. So I wouldn't assume they are out to get you at this point, check my other thread to see the hoops I have gone through at this point with Nissan USA DIRECTLY, and STILL no one wants to use logic to ensure we as customers are treated fairly, or even well.

well I just got back from dealer to have oil consumption test done and they too are already saying I must have all service records. I told them I have receipts of oil changes since Ive owned the car which is six months but how in the world do they expect you to provide records from someone you dont even know? I bought my car used from a nissan dealer and they told me to try calling them for records, but I will fight this as if that was the normal warranty policy half of the people getting warranty work done would be declinded..
