Yikes...this is what they're doing to non-revup VQs with OC now...that sux. You guys need a TSB like revups.

I'd start filing defect complaints to the NHTSA like many of us revup owners G35/350Z did years ago. After that revups got a TSB. Nissan 350Z in Nov 2007 and Infiniti G35 in Jan 2008. Speculation? Perhaps, but the coincidence is there and shouldn't be ignored.

I am going through the oil consumption test with Infiniti right now. I have driven 468 miles and checked the dipstick this morning, and it is slightly below half on the H-L. Based on what i have read in this thread, I should qualify for a replacement engine.

I have a stillen intake on the car, has anyone had any issues with the warrantly with only an intake?

Thanks.

To save myself from reading through 51 pages. I do not have a local Infiniti dealer, would it be possible to have a Nissan dealer perform the warranty work on my car.

No complaint so far. My service advisor was Mike Longridge. They did the oil/filter change and going back there in 1000 miles. I hope going to Riverside is worth my drive(60miles one way).

I also had the passenger side door lock actuator fixed under waranty and did the airbag recall thing.

How long did it take for you to do the airbag recall thing?
I needed to get that done too, but didn't have the time when I went in.

Mike was also my rep. I went in the week before you (drove 50 miles from LA).

Oil change, actuator fix, airbag recall and car wash took about 2.5hrs total but I'm not sure how long individually.

Sorry I'm beyond new to this, but I just bought my 06 6MT slate about 3.5 months ago n I've changed the oil myself 2x on the car and noticed that I'm consuming lots of oil. (5qts start to 3.5-3qts when changing) I've read the article on how our cars have this problem and was just wondering if the TSB on the forum is current so i can print it out and take it with me to the dealership to have them check out the problem. I have 47k miles but I believe my warranty has already expired.

Also the only upgrade towards my motor is a Z-tube/pop charger combo. Will the dealer bs me about having an aftermarket intake? Greatly appreciate the answers.

6yr/70,000mi powertrain warranty..

ur good mang.. take it to dealer and tell them ur consuming oil. be prepared to show records of oil changes and ur intake SHOULD b okay.. if you have the stock one, i would just change it out so there is absolutely NO bs...

good luck..

Is the updated TSB and any other documents I'd need on the first page?

^First page/post is the first one (Jan 2008) <-- don't use.
Here's the revised one dated May 2008: INFINITI G35 OC 5-20-08 ITB08-002c.pdf

HOWEVER, here's what Nissan did to 350Z's on 7-30-2010: NTB07-088d.pdf
It's only the first page from a members post on my350z's main OC thread, but it's revised to NTB07-088d from NTB07-088c which is the same as Infiniti's ITB08-002c.

Infiniti/Nissan have historically followed one another hand-in-hand on this OC issue with revised TSB's. NHTSA also finally indicates Infiniti's TSB being revised on July 30, 2010 as well (NHTSA Item Number: 10024078). Think it's safe to assume Infiniti's revised TSB now ends in d.

'jookyshank's' thread now holds water imo about short-blocks instead of long-blocks:
