That's only one-half quart in 2500 miles. You're fine.

I am currently going through my 1st oc test. They said it would take about 2 hours? Is that right? I asked if I failed the 1qt/1000 miles test then I clearly qualify for the replacement block, but the service rep said no I'd have to come back 3 times for them to decide that?!? And if anyone that has gotten this test in the Chicagoland area (orland park) pls let me know what they've done for you. All answers are greatly appreciated.

There is a new version of the TSB available. See here: http://x.infinitihelp.com/forum/loca...=76&linkid=878

My dealer in Calgary made the determination with only one test. I'm getting a new short block installed on Oct 25.

I read in another thread that I can't find now that a fellow doesn't have an oil change history of this car (he bought it second hand). It looks to me that this is covered in the TSB. Look at the flow chart. i think they were just jerking him around.

I'm sure the dealership will tell you about it too.
If not, you can ask.

I got my engine replaced about 6 months ago.

Lately I've been noticing a burnt oil smell after long drives or strenuous drives. Also when I open up the oil cap, a vapor is inside, I'm not sure if it's smoke or not, but there's a definite vapor.

Do you guys think my new engine is burning oil too?

Hey guys I need some help!! I have a 07 6mt and it's burning oil. I'm currently getting the OS done. My first reading, the dealership told me that the level was down a half quart in the first thousand miles, I went Saturday for my second measurement and they told me that it was down 9mm which wasn't in the no good range for 2,000 miles. Someone correct me of I'm wrong but I thought a half quart was 12mm on the measuring tape. So how would the car gain 3mm of oil in 1000 miles?!?! I told them I would be contacting consumer affairs but I want to be 100 percent sure before I do. The help would be greatly appreciated.

^ Your Dealer played you. Sounds like they topped you off for second return trip. First return = 12mm (.5qt) and second return = 9mm. Both in the 'no good' on chart.

Since they say 9mm in 2K mi and 'ok' on chart now, read TSB pg 8. Come back just prior to 2K or just after 2.5K. Make the chart work for you, not them.

And from pg 5:
11. Ask the customer to return to the dealer after 1000 - 3750 miles to recheck the engine oil level.

~1000 miles + or - my car burned 1/2 the oil of the dip stick, this wouldn't qualify for OC test?
