Just figured out how to add the paddle shifters to my 2008 G37 Journey Coupe. Got a couple of terminals from my dealer which plug into a connector behind the dash. Made my own harness and it works great!

WES!!!

I have an 07 X loaner this week while the dealer repaints my front bumper.
I can not tell you how many times my left hand has reached for the paddle that isn't there. I know I love my paddles but had no idea how much I'd miss them once they're gone.

You have got to get this done!!! It definitely makes the experience that much better.

lol, its funny that you mention this. I was at the dealer today purchasing wheel locks for my rims. I found myself walking around the showroom. An FX was there with paddle shifters... in which I found myself pulling on the paddles... lol and thought my car can have this one day. hehe

and oh yeah, I may find myself in Boston sometime in the future for a visit eh? My gf has a really good friend there that she has been wanting to visit. My coworker is moving there this summer and... I recall someone promising to install the paddles if I made my way out there ... :P

Have you done your overlays yet? haha Maybe I can do something for u too

Dude, you find yourself down here... let me know.
Try to give me a little notice so I can set up some free time. I'll help you with the install... I don't want anything in return.
I say, but the kit from Rick now. Keep it in your trunk and when you make it down here, we're ready to go.

The airbag... I worried too. As long as the battery is disconnected, she won't pop.

As for the overlays, I have new ones sitting in the garage, waiting for the weather to warm up a bit. They're just easier to apply when it's hot outside.
I am NOT looking forward to it... those things suck to apply!

LOL... Stupid wheel gap!
Who's dropping first? It's not the cost of springs making me hesitate. It's the cost of springs, front and rear camber kits, alignment, install, and wheel spacers.
Adds up real fast!!!

A couple dozen? So now I'm a drunk too?
Very nice.

Just had to thank the OP (lemodular) for an awesome DIY, followed it through and installed my paddles in an hour, taking my time. The removal of the airbag clips were extremely helpful as it would have took me a while (and frustration) to figure that one out.

Awesome DIY, paddles rock, what more can i say.

This mod will not work on an 05. If you search in some other areas of this site, there is someone here installed a set of paddles in an early coupe by making some modifications to the steering assembly and electronics.

Aw crap!

Now I need to find something new to nag you about.

I'm stoked that you are finally getting around to these. I feel that these paddles and my exhaust have completely changed the experience of owning my G. The car has a whole new attitude and fun/cool factor.
I'm a little bummed that the trip to MA for installation and beer didn't happen, but we'll catch up one day.

You're gonna love these.
Congrats dude!
