1. Steering position all the way out and up.
2. remove lower trim from the steering column
3. turn steering wheel to the left, and remove the screw on the right column trim this is the screw behind the steering wheel. This seems to be a little hard to do, but just pull a little, and it will pop right out. This might be the hardest part, but don't get scared. You wont mess anything up.
4. Turn steering wheel to the right and remove the left screw. then Remove the trim on the left. (If you have the electric telescoping wheel, then you would need to unplug the telescoping ****. fairly simple)
5. Plug the paddles in and put the new trim in place.

Voila!.

Can you give me more specifics on how to remove the lower trim? It seems like the automatic adjustment **** is in the way.

EDIT: Sorry, i figured it out. I should have read the first page.

When i say the lower trim, i mean the housing below the steering column. there is little snap on piece that easily pops out, and then the trim is tied with a bracket which can be unscrewed.

If you cant find it, PM me your email address and i will try emailing you pictures.

I just did this install on Friday. It was a piece of cake. I did, however, lose one of the two small trim pieces that cover the screws. I dropped it while trying to put it on, and still can't find it. I never know where this stuff disappears....ugh.

ps. to snap out that lower trim piece I found it easiest to push back (towards engine) until you hear a click, then it can be pulled down (towards floor)

Has anyone tried this on a G35 without cutting/trimming parts of the steering wheel?

Not sure about the 05s, but 07 and newer doesn't require any cutting or trimming. Its a factory bolt on.

Thanks sameerg!!! I too installed the shifters without removing the steering wheel.
Woohoo!!!!!

Took about an hour, but the wife was talking to me and I was fighting with some of the trim parts. I reused the top trim piece that was already there. Is that what everyone else did????

Completed install - no problems

Thanks to Sameerg. I finisherd my install without any issues. Used the Sameerg method, and didn't even disconnect the battery power.
I am loving the paddle shift...well worth the $.
Oh yea...I know it is a little bit pimp-style, but I also added the "S" badge when I did the install.
