No, they didn't say anything about the Bully Dog. I don't know if they detect it or not. The service manager said that they were installing the new engine today. That was earlier this morning.
The Bully Dog could be a Stealth Mod. IDK.

Got my mpg numbers in! Looks like ive got a steady increase of 2.2 mpg over two previous tankfuls.

I use only 93 octane from exxon or mobil stations.

Previous city mpg = 19.9 - 20.1

BullyDog mpg = 22.1-22.3

I havent changed routes or driving habits (except for more throttle )

Impressive!

Okay, It is only detectable if you don't return your tune back to OEM specifications. I.e. Limiter, Idle, RPM's, Timing, and Premium back to Stock.

I wanna know the A/F ratios after the BD tune, especially with an intake installed.

Did you uninstall it before you brought it in?? otherwise you may not be able to re install in on the new engine, uness they keep the same ECU as before

i dont think it'll matter because its highly unlikely for them to change out the ECU, max they would do would be to reset it.

A typical dealers auto-repair mechanics will not notice things like ECU reflash. They will just take the car out for a test drive to make sure no problems, however they shouldn't run the **** out of a new engine (for break-in purposes). I have met the mechanics at my dealership and I can certify that they don't know a whole lot about the electronics on our vehicles. (They are use to checking error codes and looking them up in their book/computer).

I doubt they would do anything to the ECU. (An engine is an engine... probably has no bearing to the ECU). To put it in context, have you ever taken a harddrive (with software) and replaced a processor/motherboard? It's the same thing with a car. You have the "brain" which is the ECU and all it does is control the "hardware" which is the engine etc... The only thing I see them doing is possibly reflashing it back to stock, which would overwrite your BD tune (seriously doubt they'd do that).

I'd love to improve the throttle tip in on this car.
The lag from idle really sucks.

...btw, I knew I should never have looked at this thread

Good Points with the comparison. Before I had the car picked up by Infiniti, I did flash it to the stock tune but I left the limiter to 150 Mph and +2* timing. It is okay if they reflash it back to their specifications because I was going to install the updated version that I received. Version 1.2.2F. My previous version was 1.2.2D.
