What are you guys setting your shift point to?
I think I read this somewhere along the way, that even though Bullydog allows the rev limiter to be raised, it doesnt change the shift points when driving in the regular D mode....or DS for that matter.

I think the only way to squeeze out the extra rpms is to do it in manual mode.

I havent tried yet really....Not enough runway for me anywhere.

I believe it does change the shift points while driving in DS mode not sure about D mode.

I'm not going above what the dealer's techs recommended (which was +2)

I believe the higher you go, the higher octane you will need in order to ensure proper detonation. Lower octanes will detonate too early and that causes a loss of power and knocking can also occur

I'm using 93 octane with my +2 setting

+2 is the maximum the BullyDog will let you do.

Since 91 is the highest octane available in california, is it advisable to up the timing to +2?

is there really that big of a difference between a bully dog tune with timing at 0 and a bully dog tune with timing at +2?

or the difference between just getting the timing adjusted at the dealership vs the cost benefit analysis of getting a bullydog for that matter.

Hit the gas and get your RPMs up.
You should see a difference up there.

You have to go WOT or stay in the high revs to notice a +2 change in your timings.

I installed mine today and adjusted the rev limiter, speed governor, etc and added the premium tune. The only thing was that it says that I can't modify the timing or idle settings because the engine needs to reach 180 to 201 degrees. I wrmed up the motor and nothing changed. Do I need another version??

mine said that today when i adjusted the timing. I just waiting until the car warmed up and revved the engine a little. got up to 180 easily.

Mine did that as well.
I sat in the garage with the engine running and I just watched the screen until the temp hit 180.
I was then able to make those changes.

The BullyDog shows the current engine temp as it's running
