Toyo T1R's suck???
Sooooooo ...on my way home I ran over something on the NJ Turnpike got rear flat tire ...pissed
So next day (Fri) I go buy to new rear tires
I have Falken FK452's 285-30-20
but Ive heard lots of u guys talking about Toyo T1r's on here
so I go buy 2 for my rear they didnt have 285 so i settled for the 275-30-20
I got a unbeatable deal on them thanks to a friend of mine.
my question is what is the break-in period for tires? because so far the tires are not as good as my Falkens, the are a little noisy ...the falkens I could ot hear
& the traction doesnt seem to be as good,
(I drive with VDC off all the time) when Im coming home around 3am theres no one on the road & sometimes I like to drive prettty aggressive & hit corners pretty fast on wide streets (cuz no one else is on the road). the traction sucks ....these tires scare me
Im really starting to regret my purchase
so far Ive put about 90 miles on them
should i wait longer or are they broken-in already?

You've given up some width so traction will suffer a bit, and our cars are noisey allll the time so . . . no the Toyo's don't suck. I love mine, especially when its wet. Every brand will have its good and bad attributes, it just depends on which ones are most important to you. To be fair, I've never put Falkens on my G, so I guess I wouldn't be able to compare the two, I just know I like the Toyo's, for longevity, traction, and ride quality.
There shouldn't really be a "break in" but if these toyo's have a lot more tread on them right now compared to the falkens that were on your car, that might explain the road noise increase.

Also apart from burning the top layer chemicals they use for storing NJ has been unbelievably cold.
Toyo's like any other summer tire do not like the cold so thats another thing to consider.
I would say give it 200 miles or start doing some burnouts whatever your pleasure is to break them in

As a matter of fact u are very right
T1R is a summer tire & it has been cold here in NJ ...we had snow flurries Sat & Sun.!!!
+ what triple8sol said about burning off the chemicals, I've heard that before
this is why i come here, u guys make it all make sense
I'll give it a few weeks to put some more miles on them & by then the weather should have warmed up a bit
...global warming sux we hit 70 degrees 2 weeks ago & get snow flurries this weekend

How long did you have the Falkens?
I had Falkens on my 19's with 285's on the rear they didn't have very good tread wear.
When I bought my 20's I bought the T1R's and they seemed quieter and handled well they definitely improved after a few hundred miles. I live in Texas so it is warm now I have had them for a month or so.

but the Falken FK451 (which are an older model) wear faster than the FK452's
also from researching ....FK452's are rated at 300 & the T1r's rated at 280 so the Toyos will most likely wear faster
Ive had my Falkens since i think last summer but I have 2 other cars hence I only had about 4k on the tires reason i replaced both rears is cuz i didnt want to have 1 half worn tire & 1 new one (blown tire couldnt be patched)

actually.. i dont like my t1rs either.. i used to have general exclaim uhp. and those tires were a lottt better than my t1r's. i loose traction very easily with the toyos. only thing thats good about the toyos is that they look really nice but performance wise..there not that great of tires.. il be switching back to generals or ps2's for my next set
