Hi, I tried searching but didn't get an answer I wanted so I'm gonna ask here.

I have an 05 Coupe and am considering possibilities for winter setup. Specifically, I'm considering using the OEM-Rays-STYLE wheels that come in 6MT sedans (you know.. the 18" double spoke) Is this feasible and has anyone done this?

Also, I read some suggest 225/50-18 Front and 235/50-18 Rear setup for winter set, but wouldn't 245/50-18 Rear better replicate the tire diameter, thus the vehicle speed of 245/40-19 Rear that the stock ones come in? Are 235s significantly more capable in winter conditions than 245s?

Ive been doing a fair bit of reading, but im just going to post my super broad questions here.

Im sick of my Daytona's- Iforged did a pretty lousy job of coming up with offsets, and at the time I ordered I didnt know any better.

3pc Meisters is what im looking for. Im looking for a mild aggressive offset than I can add spacers to taste.
A fellow member suggested 19x9.5 +12 (R-disk) and 19.11 +17 (O-disk)

Im on BC coils, SPC front & rear. This is my D.D. so I want to keep my camber where its at. -1.8 front and -2.2 rear. I do have Brembos and my fenders are rolled flat.

Is the specs I have listed going to be reasonable? If not, will a 10mm spacer suffice if I want to get it closer to flush?

Also, what size Fk452 tire would give me a bit of stretch to look decent, and clear the fender if I hit a huge bump.

Thanks in advance.
Sean

if you are getting new wheels why PLAN on getting spacers? you know what I mean? if you were to put 10mm spacers those would be at +2 and +7, so might as well look for those specs

Karma is there a specific reason you dont wanna just go with a slightly more aggressive setup, or do you want the ability to mess with spacers?, If so, thos specs are good for a pretty flush setup. As for tires, again it varies with how aggressive you want to go... with just the specs you posted id do a 275/245, you wont need much stretch and you really dont need to, unless you like that stretch look then go for a 235/265, either or will look good and will give you a clean but mild stretch. By keeping your camber specs the same you will be fine with those specs.

If yu search a lil more there are a few members who have those specs, so you can see how they fit and see whether or not you would like to go more aggressive...

So staggard wheels means that you would have 18" rims in the front and 19" rims in the back? Staggard tires means you have thicker tires in the rear than you do in the front?......

Well I know I want to leave my camber where its at. And im just nervous that if I dont have enough stretch on the tires, that they will rub excessively. The roads in my province are terrible. Every 3-4 seconds I have to swerve to miss something on/in the road. But if your confident the specs I listed with a 275/245 tire will clear with no issues. I might as well get the lower offsets.

Does anyone know if Meisters have cut outs in the wheel mating surface for bolt on spacers, or are they flush meaning extended stud spacers

well if your roads are bad then stretched tires might not be a good idea.. there is also the option of rolling, pulling and flaring your fenders and still not stretching your tires

because either way if you get the specs you wanted plus those spacers it will be the same thing as lower offsets

Searching for 30 minutes brought me to this:

https://g35driver.com/forums/picture...requested.html

Thats pretty much what I want. Its hard to tell becuase his car is sitting pretty high. But it looks like there is a bit of extra room.

http://www.workwheelsusa.com/media/w...03P%20Spec.pdf

Maybe im reading this wrong, but according to that sheet, a 19x11 +17 is the lowest you can go with O disk.

I just talked with a few vendors, Work apparently doesn't do custom offsets for the rear O disk's.
I also found out they dont have cuts outs for bolt on wheel spacers.
Is 19 x 11 +17 seriously the lowest you can go with an O disk?!

Bolt on spacers are a PITA

i have questions about tires.
i got toyo t1r's and they say "left" and "right" on the sidewall.
can i swap them side to side?
why did they put that designation on the sidewall? they're not asymmetrical.

The perfect wheels and they don't fit!

I have searched high and low for the perfect wheels. After looking for months I decided I really like the concave look where the spokes go from the very edge of the wheel as deep as possible into the hub. I finally found two I really like and of course they are not designed for us. They are both M6 type wheels

The first

MIRO 346

The second

VORTEX VT509

Has anyone had success with a lug adapter to make 5x120 lug spaced wheels fit the coupes 5x114.3 ?

Or even better, does anyone know an M6 style wheel that does fit the 5x114.3 off the shelf?

Thanks

The rule of thumb I have found for 03 G35 sedans is this:

Stock wheels 17"x7 +45

Now from my observations, both front and rear wheels sit flush at around 33mm wider than standard position.

So the table I have come up with is:

8" rim +25 = 33mm wider track than stock
8.5" rim +31 = 33mm
9" rim +37 = 33mm
9.5" rim +44 = 33mm

From my basic research, any wider than these fitments require guard rolling or camber.

To answer your question about the 10" rim +19 would sit 64mm wider than stock - so they would stick out of the guards approx. 3cm - and would definitely foul on the struts on the inside too.

The easiest online offset calculator I have found is :

http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html

My word is definitely not the gospel, but in my significant investigations this is what I have found. Keep in mind too that I have not actually taken delivery of my V35 yet (it is a Japanese version, as I am in Australia), so have not actually purchased and fitted wheels of this offset, but from other people's pictures and information I have come up with this theory.

Hope this is of help to anyone out there.

Toyo doesn't do this so you can't flip the tire and get 2x the wear out of them. Most of the time they are marked because they were designed to run that direction. If backwards sometimes they heat up really hot, and in the rain they dont preform like they should.
Bottom line, take Toyo's word for it and run the tires the correct way
