PLEASE HELP! wheels ruined from cleaner.

GRRRRRRRRRR! For those of you who saw my new 20" Maya RT-5 wheels you know how sweet they looked.

Well after always using meguiars wheel cleaner to get the brake dust off (which always worked great) autozone was out so I looked at the EagleOne ALL Wheel Cleaner. States that it IS SAFE FOR CLEAR COATS!
WRONG!!!!!!! That crap just ruined my wheels and I've been on the phone with eagleone and I'm filing a claim.

I need to find a EXCELLENT wheel refinishing company. If any one here has ever had there lips on volks or any other wheel repaired, please let me know.
Only the lips were ruined with white spot and smudges all over the lip. Oh my god I have never been so upset in my life.

From what I've heard the clear coat will have to be stipped, lip repolished and then re clear coated again. WHAT A PAIN!

PLEASE HELP

Perhaps you should post this on the "Wheels, Brakes, Tires, and Suspension" board.

same thing happened to me a while back...the EagleOne wheel cleaner left blueish/greenish spots on my polished lip. I called EagleOne and they recommended that I use Mother's Wheel polish to see if they can be removed. I tried it and I managed to removed them. EagleOne offered to reimburse me for the polish but I just didn't bother.

Good luck hope it isn't too bad.

this can all be avoided by just washing ur rims with plan old soap and water....dry them off....wax if needed...and done....repeat 2x a week....all problems solved....i have yet to use any cleaner besides soap on my rims....i don't trust anything and never will...if u wash regularly it won't be a big deal.....

Can I use blue magic on volk wheels and lip? or just the rim itself?

Sorry to hear that. I had a similar experience. The dealer washed my car and they used some chemical cleaner on my rims. They were confident they could remove the film looking stains with polish, I rolled my eyes at them because I new better. They called me later and said they were going to send it out to get polished. Called me back a few weeks later and said the only way they could fix it is chrome the lip. So the chromed my lip and fixed the dent I had (bonus) and it looks like new, took them 3 months though.. At least they gave me loaner stock wheels.

If your problem is similar to mine, I'm pretty sure there is no polish that will correct your problem. You might want to check out fixrim.com . I've taken my other rims there and he always made it look brand new. They are somewhere in huntingbeach or santa ana in CA. You can ship it them if you want since you are in Arizona. Turnaround time is quick, 24-48 hours.

Good Luck.

Why do you guys even use that stuff? Just wax your wheels regulary and
use gentle car shampoo.
