got it done today! It took a bit of time, (about 4 hours) but came together perfectly. I followed dR6's instructions and it came out great. I did leave the 6x9s hooked up and didn't notice much muddiness. i just rolled my LP to about 80hz and gave a little bass boost ( my amp is set at 50hz ). Now the sound feels and sounds more complete. The next step would be a better sub ( I'm thinkin' Kappa Perfect ) and some good components ( DLS perhaps?). Thanks to everyone for your help and especially dR6 for putting this up in the first place. I owe you a HUGE thanks!

hey guys I just went ahead and tried this mod, I have an alpine mrd-m301 and a 12" rockford fosgate sub. All went well managed to get all the wiring where I needed but once I hooked it all up and powered up the to see if it was good, but I get nothing out of the amp or sub. The rest of the speakers including the rear 6x9's seem to be working fine, any help would really be appreciated

hey im new to this car and this whole Bose setup that comes with it.

i have a new double din hu, a alpine v12 mono block and 12" type r sub that Im thinking about installing into the car. I have been reading and it seems like you recommend to leave the back component speakers "subs" disconnected? why exactly?

Also is the Bose amp a 4 channel only used to power the speakers? so if i wanna put a dual coil 2ohm mono block in for the new sub would i just run everything of the mono block? and take out the Bose amp completely? And the components would just wire into the new amp?

As you can tell I'm a complete noob.. I'm sure you guys are scratching your heads thinking "wtf is he talking about"
if anyone could clear all this up for me or even understands what I'm trying to get at plz help

thanks in advance

I would even say remove the rear deck woofers. Sitting on the deck with that large of a sub, they're liable to turn into passive emitters just from the air movement from the sub. They definitely won't be producing the same sound as the woofer from that moving air, and it's going to interfere with the sound coming from the amp. They'll be like kazoos getting blown around by your sub. (Extreme analogy GO!)

In the coupe, it's a Bose 6-channel. 2x fronts+tweeters, 2x rears and 2x deck woofers. And no, you definitely cannot run all those channels from a 2channel amp.

So then to control the speakers either I keep te Bose amp or get a 4 channel and then for my 12 in sub I would run it off my mono?? Isn't the Bose amp or component amp just for clarity? I mean I have a system in my other car. I have New apline deck subs and 700 rms mono and I don't have any 4 channel and everything is running fine. So wouldn't I be able to do the same thing in the g?

Yeah, keep the bose amp if you don't want to spend money on another one but it's recommended to upgrade the speakers and the amp because the only thing bose in our car is the rear deck "subs." The other crap is all just regular crappy nissan speakers.
