This thread is over 30 pages long. You really might want to reference what you're referring to

You do hook it up to get your speakers to work again. My mistake

GREAT DYI!!!!!!

Just did the install and everything turned out awesome!!!

Instead of wiring the bass control **** to the center console I went along the driver side trim and mounted the control box directly below the trunk release, vdc button via velcro. Its easy to get to while driving and a really easy spot to wire to without cutting anything.

Thanks OP.

Would this set up be compatable with bose?

Yes. JL amps accept differential-balanced signals, so you'll want to use the audio signals going into the bose amp, not the ones coming out.

It is compatible but that sub is made for competition and won't blend with your stock speakers. I would soon go aftermarket headunit and speakers for the best of that sub. Just my .02 :P

Just finished install. Instructions are dead on. Not my first install but the info came in handy for the color codes. Have a Precision Power amp and had to use the power socket circuit for my remote turn on I was getting less than 8 volts from the Bose remote wire and the PP amp has a mute circuit if it gets less than 8 or 9 volts.

Issue

I am having an issue with the install myself. I am running a Rockford Fosgate amp (mono 1 channel) with 2 12's at 2 ohm. The issue is with the input signal, I used a JL RCA cable which i cut and spliced into the + and - wires in order to connect to factory 18 gauge wires. I wanted to purchase the JL conversion kit but they were out of stock. When i connect just the - wire for the RCA inputs it works, but once i add the + i get an electrical noise, like a loud winning sound for either channel...... I am positive i know my colors and the positives are going to the correct position. SHould i get the JL conversion kit instead of regular RCA's? What can the issue be?

Your RF amp is not built to accept the differential-balanced signal that the Bose headunit puts out. That's the problem.

Get an amp that supports balanced signal inputs (JL does this in pretty much every amp they make), or get a converter to convert the balanced to unbalanced.

Ahhh I see, do you recommend a particular converter? I was looking online but found some which I dont think fit well into a vehicle setup. I also dont want to spend 150 bucks on it, unless its absolutely necessary. Any from like JL, Kicker, Alpine etc that i can use and can pick up locally?

Just a thought as well... Will tapping into the signal coming out of the Bose AMP which goes to the 6x9 in the rear be an unbalanced signal? I am no AV expert but it sounds like Balanced signals are coming from the HU and the Bose amp is handling how the speaker sets will react, IE (bass, mids or highs). Do you think this would work?

It'll be an unbalanced signal but you'll be compounding the POS Bose's EQ with using high-level inputs. If you have any desire for your bass to be good, you'll do it the right way.
