Wrathernaut's Double-Din Installation FAQ, Shopping and Resource List
yeah, u can, u just screw in your ac controls and then screw in your back peice. if u have navi your navi should still be attached... no need to disconnect it, just remove your POS OEM radio and put your DD there. then seat it back in and wala! your good!
btw the back peice im talking bout is the one that is screwed down behind the clock and goes all the way down to the HU...

If the radio isnt turning on, check red(on/off signal from the ignition), yellow(power source from battery, chk inline fuse) and black(ground)
If the bose amp or aftermarket amp isnt turning on, chk blue/white, i believe solid blue is the antenna...
now for the bolded section, you said high +'s are connected? what high +'s were you referring to? is that on the PAC or your HU? ugh well i just went to the website n looked up your unit's compatibility and it doesnt have the G35 listed :/ and its updated as of today

nope, talkin bout ur PAC, follow the link in my last post n chk the list, maybe i missed it, but i doubt it... i even CTRL+F'd it
but i know many people that use this pac poem system in there car this is what wrathernauts has on his post about replacing stock radio he sai he has installed 3 headunits in the g35 and said this pac poem works.. hmmm
i also dont see a amp gound coming off of the pac system.. on the metra kit its a black/gray wire for amp ground and blue/white wire for amp turn on and for this pac kit its only blue/white but its for AMP TRIGGER... not quite sure what the difference is maybe its hooked up to the black wire for all the ground. because my radio turns on with ignition turn on and all everythng else works fine just very very very faint sound when the volume is all the way up. and i think i have everything else wired up right
I showed them that pic and they said it's too hard and would take hours to do. BS.

Those guys didn't even want to try.

Oh, and if you're feeling adventurous, you can send me the entire nav screen, bracket, trim and such and I'll do what I can, but no promises, and you've got to include return shipping. It may take hours, but it's a hobby I enjoy, so I don't really care, it's not my job, I don't need to make money off it.

Next time get stuff like that in writing - "We will install xxx radio in your G35, and keep factory navigation working for $xxx". It makes it much easier to get them to do it right, and if they don't, then small claims court will chew them up and give you the money to get a JDM kit
Hey im just curious of what length rca's ill need to buy to hook my amp up to my dd? my amp is on the back of my rear seats.I wish i would have realized when they first installed my amp, cause they kept the rca's from the amp kit
First of HUGE props to Wrathernaut for the shopping list and all the help.
I just picked up a Pioneer AVIC-X930BT and was wondering if the bypass procedure has changed?
When looking through forums I came accross this video which seems to suggest I have to move a wire before grounding the bypass: http://youtu.be/xjUq0_hCDLQ
Is this what I need to do for the bypass?
Also is it possible to have the bypass on a switch so as to minimize the chances of getting caught with an illegal in dash video screen (the law in Ontario requires the video/some nav features to not work while in motion). A friend of mine installed a switch on an older AVIC unit, but I am not sure if the bypass procedure has changed.
Thanks.

Yeah no the way I envisioned it was that you could remove the part of the DD kit that came out on the other side of the AC vents (the ones that are either black or willow). Willow matches my interior but I have black on my DD kit and I thought I could swap this out, but its not looking like I can

deff agree w/ wrath on this one, u shouldnt have had to pay em extra, sure they shouldnt have hacked up ur stuff w/o asking but they SHOULD have asked... they already had it out, n it woulda taken and extra few minutes to trim a lil off the back.
