I tried using the trim that came with the Pioneer. I was in a hurry, so didn't put much work into cutting the trim. I guess I could try again later on when I take it out to connect the USB cable. I would only need the trim to cover the top. The sides and bottom were a tight fit.

okay so i'm about to sit down and do all of this. let me get it straight

the red striped wires at the end get taped off

all wires get matched to their appropriate color and soldered together, except the solid blue wire,

which gets soldered as part of a three way connection with the red wire from PAC and the red wire from the Pioneer yes?

Don't connect the MUTE or REVERSE to anything. The mute button on the Pioneer 4300 will still work anyway.

The E-BRAKE wire will need to be connected to the e-brake switch on the actual e-brake. I found it easier to just buy a bypass on eBay.

I'll post pictures of my head unit later tomorrow (today).

If you ground it I don't think you will be able to watch movies while driving.

Not that i watch while driving or even when parked, but i thought it would be nice to have it by passed.

& yes you can, I did it on my clarion HU back in the days and i also did the same on my JVC that im installing now and it worked like a charm

If pioneer are grounded on the e-brake wire when they start up, they act just like if there was no e-brake wire connected. They need the bypass relay to allow video to be played to the front screen while driving (I believe rear video output is unaffected either way).

As for making it flush, drill your own holes for the screws on the bracket to flush the face with the trim, then just cut pieces of the scosche trim to fill in the resulting gaps.

I don't think I'll ever watch DVDs in my car, but wanted to integrate the bypass into the big harness I made so I wouldn't have to touch it again. It's nice to know if a passenger wants to watch a DVD they can.

I'm going to take my Pioneer out and re drill hole into the bracket. It sticks out too far and there is a big gap at the top.
