I had recently cleaned my window motor (passenger side) with alcohol. The window was fine for quite sometime till it recently jammed up again. Once it was stuck all the way down, another time it was stuck all the way up. Sometimes it is easy to unjam by banging on the door panel right over the speaker. (A bit abusive but it works) But sometimes the banging won't work. How can I know what is the exact problem. Is it the motor or something else???

^its time to replace the motor. cleaning is usually a temp solution. some say it works fine after most say it will eventually break again anyway and ull end up replacing it anyways like wat i ended up doing.

Anyone figure out what we need to do to get this fixed? I'm having the same issue. I can't get that gold metal cap flush so I can put the screws back in.

hmm.. I have one of these lying around somewhere - maybe I should give it a try - who is buying me beer?

not sure if it would work, but have you thought about taking a block of wood and tapping it back into place? That is, if you are certain it is going in correctly. Sometimes I find that the easiest solutions are the simplest - wood, brick, and elbow grease.

i had this issue. theres a metal bead like stopper on the bottom of the motor housing. if you look through the casing ull see it on the very bottom where the motor sits. its get moved out of position causing the " spindle" to not sit flush.

I had the same issue. I forced the spindle down, it took some force but it clicked down and spun much easier once it was in its proper place.

One other issue I discovered while cleaning the motor was that the window was not sliding properly on its track which caused the motor to really struggle. Its better now but i think that it needs further adjustments.

How did you "force" it down? Just push down with your bare hands?

^that i never figured out. the only reason i even discovered the little magical bead was i was just fed up with trying to get it to sit flush so i got a hammer and banged the spindle down. sure enough it finally went in then i noticed on the bottom of the house was cracked with the little bead exposed lol. so i was like oh thats why the spindle wasnt going all the way down. no matter i just replace the motor anyway. i guess u could turn the housing upside down and tap it so the bead falls out and u could try dropping it back in till it sits properly

What's crazy is if i use the auto down feature on the FOB (the one where you hold unlock for a second or two and the window goes down) the window will go down. So i know the motor works and it getting power. It just wont go up or even respond to the door switches on both sides.

i check the harness but only made it to the door hinge where it goes into the rubber grommet. After that i don't know how to trace it.
