My window got stuck down today right before I walked in to work. I can't wait for my next off day to fix it! I'll update with it if the cleaning fixed

Update

So after more than 2 months the cleaning out of the motor has held up nicely. I am thinking its best to do this yourself, inspecting the brushes and only replacing if you think absolutely necessary. If not a good cleaning with forced air and hi grit sandpaper should get your window rolling again. With that said I am sure my window will get smashed this week.

After inspecting my motor and cleaning it, I found one of my brushes is completely gone. Does this mean my motor is shot? Also I've had a hard time getting the threads all the way back down and closing the motor flush. Any suggestions?

redon...are you sure that 1 brush is completely gone? Any chance that it is just pushed down all the way and is hidden? If so you can try to tinker with a screwdriver and try to get it to spring back out. If your 100% sure brushes are completely gone I would not bother with that thing unless you go forward and do that brush replace. That seems like a pain in the ***** to me and you would have to hit the jackpot to find a hobby shop that is open and stocks that brush. If you can wait better off ordering online. Could be a cheap fix (under $10), but you may be better off not dealing with any solder and all that bs and just going to autozone and getting a lifetime warranty refurb and getting your window working by evening. Just my opinion. I hate soldering.

Also I think I remember what you were talking about getting the threads all the way back down. I remember some sort of magnet action going on, and just forcing that sht on. I dont know maybe someone remembers better than me. Good luck.

I remember something happening when I tried to put that magnet cover thing back on and I just forced it down all the way. not sure this is the same thing you are seeing tho, Sorry been a while. I actually posted the below response a while back when someone had a sim question.

My problem: whenever I open my drivers door the window doesn't go down like it's suppose to (about half an inch) but if you push on it, it will go down.

Should I just try the reset or clean it AND reset it?
I know this was a long time ago, but did you ever find a fix for this? My driver's side window does the same thing. It seems like there's just too much slack in the cable that pulls the window down the 10 mm. If I push the window down manually it drops the proper amount. Otherwise the window works fine. I tried the reset procedure a few times already and also had the door apart but didn't seen anything misaligned.
