you can buy them here: http://www.riversideinfiniti.com/j/i...bayOnline.html

And find a shop with a press to have the old ones pressed out and new ones pressed in...

I don’t know where you are located - but in the OC/LA area of So Cal, Temple City Auto does them for $35 (each side) including removal and reinstall.

thanks for your reply, located in ontario canada, however that gives me an idea the cost to have the bushing removed and replaced. Have already contacted riverside who will ship to canada since no one here wants to do anything other than replace the complete compression rod.
thanks

cool... lets us know the price you find for them to be pressed in... The price TCA charges is pretty cheap! (considering they remove and replace too)... most shops change that much just to put the car on the rack I think $20-$25 just from them to be pressed out and in would be about standard (not including removing the arm and reinstalling).

Would this sound be described as a clunking or "pitter patter" from the bottom of the car? Uneven pavement causes the vibration and noise?

After replacing the front shocks tonight, the rumbling is still present on rough streets. I had a leaking driver's side shock so I thought that was causing the noise. I guess it is the compression rod??? I'm glad I have new Z shocks though, my originals had about 105k on them.

ive seen several comp rod ball joints cause a "blown shock" noise over bumps.

Just had the compression rods replaced AGAIN. Looks like this is going to be part of my regular 60k service.

Thanks for the reply! The noise is more dramatic after replacing the shock. It's almost like the strut is loose and moves when hitting bumps or some dips in the road. It's a loud rumbling type noise and possibly felt through the steering wheel. It's almost embarrassing to drive the car because of the noise heard in the cabin.

Anyone else hear this noise? I would want to replace the whole compression rod because I want to replace the ball joint end as well. The TSB does not interest me, but if it is something else besides the compression rod I would rather find the issue than pay for the compression rods.

could be lower control arm bushing (transverse link)... mynismo sells a nismo version for 40 each side (iirc).

btw, for the compression rod, you dont have to buy the entire rod... Riverside Infiniti sells compression rod bushings for $20 - find a shop with a press and have them pressed in.

I'm going to get underneath my G tonight to see if the ball joints have any play.

Replacing the bushing will not solve the problem if the compression rod ball joint is faulty.

the primary purpose of my post was addressing this part of your concern:

Do you think the bushing is causing the noise? I mean that would be the cheapest way to fix the problem.

Steering is straight and precise on the highway as well as regular roads.

I am underneath my car right now, all the joints seem tight. It is kind of hard to tell though.

I'm beginning to think it is my lower ball joint because my the left front wheel did meet a curb about a year ago.
