The car is a 6 speed and I hoping to hit 14. The mods on the car is bone stock. Miles on the car was 9,700. I haven't had a oil change since 5000, lol. The car was ran on non-syn oil also, if that makes a difference, lol. thanks!

I had lots of low 14s when I was bone stock (well, just the K&N drop-in). It was in fact very consistent in the 14.0z-14.2x. I just ran a 12.72@114.2 yesterday with the APS TT and Crawford Plenum.

Nice Times for the TT...Very nice.

MischiefG35, with a 6 spd, 12K on the odometer and 60 F or less for temps in low humidity that thing should run 13.7-13.9 with a good launch...period. Keep it stock or at least get the Ztube and K&N drop in, but I would keep it stock until you can run it under the conditions I mentioned above...and get an oil change for Christ's sake huh! Use Mobil1 5W-30...your dealer should have it right on site. It makes a hair of a difference, but once the engine is all broken in it's nice to be running the synthetic stuff.

Good luck, although I don't think you'll need it.

fito, I saw your video over on my350z...if you really do have stock internals, that's a great testimony to how strong our engines are. What type of power are you putting down? HP/TRQ?

Just got home from hackettstown, NJ (Island Dragway park) For some reason, my first few runs were all in the 15's...15.4-15.6, my 60's were 2.9 and 3.0...i was like what is wrong with me..I was trying to launch at low rpms and get a smooth start, but that just plain sucked!!! I then went back to what I did the first time I dragged, I revved up to 2.5k rpms, and rode the clutch and my best times were, 60' 2.38 and 14.5 @98mph...kind of sucks, becuase I was at Englishtown for the Zday event and at 100+ degree weather I was pulling 2.3 60' times, 14.6 @99mph...???? go figure...I can say that I am alot more comfortable now launching, but will try launching at almost 3k next time around, shooting for a 2.0-2.1 60' time. Im pretty confident that I can hit 13.9 times. Need the ECU tuned so that I can rev up to 7k and trap at 100mph...any tips on launching are more than welcome..

75 shot, enuff for fun, not enuff to hurt.

make sure you check your A/F when juicing, VQ35 likes to run lean
NX calls for 41/24 jet sizes for 75 shot, that was 12.4 A/F for me. I went up to the 26 jet for fuel, still need another dyno tho.

i ran a 14.2@96.8mph in my '02 altima V6 intake , exhaust, advanced 2 degrees timing. it's hard to hook up especially on my 235/40/18 tires.

i know stock G35 4-doors my customer ran a 14.1@98.2 mph so it's the matter of hooking and how the track conditions are.

God I wonder what I would to with 235/40's. Tuanzas on 215's are a real joy to contend with on the track.

I agree! The G35 is under tired when it comes to adhession. Might want to try a few psi less in the rear passenger side tire when at the track.

The one and only time I took my G to the track, I had no problems with traction running my EL42s (35psi). I don't even think I chirped a tire on launch. I'd mash the brake, mash the gas, and let the brake go once I saw 2200+ rpms. Maybe track prep was good that day or it was because my motor was pretty heat soaked from the drive out there or the warm weather or the track being warm from the sun.

I will say a low 2.2/high 2.1 60 foots in the G35 feels very slow at the track. In my Maxima, a high 2.1 60 foot felt pretty dang quick. It was probably just an illusion thanks to all the wheel hop, spin, shake, and torque steer.

My next time out, I'm going to try and air my tires up to around 40-42psi in an effort to induce some wheelspin so that the car can get into it's powerband quicker and get over that annoying 2500 to 3500rpm lag in 1st gear.

So i went to the track yesterday (9/14/05) for the very first time and here is my best run (which was my 5th run out of 9 total):

14.54 @ 99.46
60' were 2.29

and i was racing against '04 350Z 6MT with a few mods who did:
14.53 @ 96.65
60' 2.36

on my VERY first run i did: 14.63 @ 93.92 and my 60' were 2.25 so i think for a first time that was great ... and it really didnt get a whole lot better than that later on but i simply don't think my stock '03 is capable of much more with original tires that have almost 30K miles on them.

so what do u guys did ... is this good or am i getting excited over nothin?

anyway GO BLUE !!!
