Jeff:

#1 I'm giving Toll an option to not have to spend more $$ than necessary if he chooses to install himself (if he even wants this FD)

#2 I'm not giving you any option to this part at all - so I have no idea why you are playing 1001 questions.

#3 research how to install ring & pinion gears if you intend to install a set you find on your own.

Nothing you posted (since my post to Toll about price) has been worth the response I've given you - however, I was courteous anyway... Find another topic because you've beaten this one to death.

Ah there is still no complete explaination on how to set the rear if he buys just the ring/pinion. I just thought you actually knew how to or what was actually involved.

Considering the inconsistent replies, thanks, I do have my answer. I'll search elsewhere for the information because it's certianly not available here.

As if you knew how to. I feel stupid for even assuming you knew.

Why are you wasting time trying to get info out of the poster child for contentious?

This is what people get when they ask a techical question that you don't know. Personal insults.

Wouldn't be easier just to say, "I have no idea becuase I pay people to do everything?" At least that would have the benefit of not only being concise but honest to boot.

But please, continue on with the commentary.

congratulations you learned a new word today... but how am I contentious when I was nothing but accommodating for the first reasonable number of posts to the guy... seriously - I should have ignored him after the first couple of responses.

Jeff, are you serious? When did I imply I did (or would) install the gear set??? Surprisingly, a good shop is very informative about parts needed to do specific jobs - and the parts I listed were all that were needed... as for shims and crush sleeves, that's not rocket science - I answered each retarded question you asked...

What is your point in responding to my post to Toll letting him know if he doesn't want to pay for an entire pumpkin to be shipped they will remove the actual parts he needs? Really, what is your point?

"I thought you knew" does not = you did it yourself. I already know you didn't. but I thought you might actually know what was involved because you paid TS to do it.

I'm not sure you listed everything needed. You didn't list the shims the first time so who knows?

Setting up a pumpkin is not always easy and can be time consuming. So... ah forget it. I've explained it. go read if you want to know

^^^ exactly. I agree... setting up the pumpkin is not easy, and it is time consuming and most people pay a shop to do it... that's my point though, Toll plans to do his own Transgo VB - something that is not a snap either and most people pay a shop to do that as well.

My whole point was; since he's planning to do the VB, he might want to save money on shipping the entire pumpkin and do the gears himself too.

It really was that simple (well until you got involved).

Mike, no need to justify yourself okay. We already know the story.

Jeff notes it was just a crush waster to set the backlash to time consuming but who cares now.

not "justifying myself"... just clarifying 'cause you didn't seem to get it... but apparently now you do.

Or, if you only want the ring & pinion (no vlsd) it would be even lighter to ship - but I'd have to get price (or even see if they will sell gears only).

Let me know...

^Guys, this has nothing to do with the OP anymore. You should have moved this discussion elsewhere a long time ago.
