Everything I posted was correct. You're the one claiming 06-07 5AT coupes came with 3.5 gears. That's simply not true. Search for yourself, the ring and pinion parts numbers from 03 through 07 are the same.

BTW, you can save me the troll preach. I've heard a few thousands times now. If someone's CC has worked at speeds over 80 mph, why doesn't anyone actually clarify? (with a diff rear end ratio)

Here's a few threads of people loosing CC with their 3.3 to 3.5 swaps:

https://g35driver.com/forums/drivetr...gear-swap.html

The biggest question most people ask when switching the gears is do you lose cruise control and the answer is YES you do lose it. Some people say they haven't but go figure.

https://g35driver.com/forums/reviews...tial-swap.html

My cruise control did freak out on the way back from LA. It was working then all of a sudden the set light began flashing and the cruise control disabled itself.

Explanation as to why the CC won't activate at higher speeds:

https://g35driver.com/forums/drivetr...ar-thread.html

The cruise control system takes signals from both the rear wheel speed and the transmission rotational speed. The ECU expects the transmission to be rotating at a certain speed for any given gear at any given wheel speed. Because the final drive changes how fast the transmission rotates for a given wheel speed, it can push it outside its expected range of parameters, throwing code P1574. When that code is tripped, cruise control will not activate.

This is why some people with the 5AT who go to the 3.538 don't necessarily lose cruise control, or only at higher speeds. Also why people with the 6MT that swap final drives can lose it only in 6th gear.

thats because all the the veterans that agree (with Toll and I) left this site a long time ago... the majority that are here now are young, and learning...

I didn't lose cruise control swapping from the 3.3 to the 3.5. Had my cruise set anywhere from 85-95 on my way back from LA and all was good. However, this is on a 2005.

So my theory on how to fix this would seem to be sound... now I just need to test it. So when are yall buying me a new diff ?

its the ring & pinion gear set... not the differential.

^Screw that. I don't want to change the ring & pinion, I'd rather swap the entire pumpkin.

there are two 3.5 FD (entire pumpkins) in the Marketplace right now... and I know of one at a local shop that will sell cheap (but you'd have to pay shipping so it wouldn't be so cheap in the long run).

^ Thanks for the info, but I'm probably just going to wait until my cousin gets a new one for his Z. He'll sell me his for cheap, and I can pick it up.

It seems to me that the 04.5 and up doesn't have the CC problem. Didn't they also change the shift logic with 04.5?
