Look on car-part.com. You'll find them far cheaper and more plentiful than sourcing from either here or my350z.com. There are about 20 of them within 100 miles of Kansas City with prices ranging from $175 to 250. I'll be getting a 3.3 VLSD in the spring. Buying from a local and reputable scrap yard will allow to verify both mileage and if it truely is a VLSD.

It seems to me that the 04.5 and up doesn't have the CC problem. Didn't they also change the shift logic with 04.5?
TCM is upgraded and relocated - so possibly?...

^ I don't care. He's fun to argue with
I might just start using the wrong terms on purpose.

he said he wanted differential (nothing about pumpkin)...

using a different term for the same part is one thing... saying you want a new differential to create a fix for loss of cc (as it pertains to this topic) isn't the same.

So as usual - you're applying an entirely obscure principal to a conversation that isn't even about that.

Funny how the guy I was discussing it with gets it - and you don't (actually it doesn't surprise me).

BTW, FSM calls it "Gear Carrier" not "carrier case" - at least get something right

I said "differential" because I'm used to using that term (yes, I know it's incorrect) to refer to the entire "rear end" Case, Diff, ring, all of it.

Lots of people refer to "differential" when they mean "pumpkin" - the whole assembly. Most don't really understand the differencel.

OC - how much would that local shop sell it for?

the clarification was more for those that aren't aware than correcting you... you'd be surprised how things like that end up being repeated down the road and ppl that aren't aware start posting that upgrading your differential cancels your cruise control (**** like that has happened in the past)...

but instead of understanding the bigger picture - dave wants to start a debate with irrelevance.

not sure - I can check if you are seriously interested...

btw, I typically just say "rear-end" as generic term.
