^Its definitely an open differential, but I may just install it anyways and see how it does in the turns. The company I bought it from has a 3.7fd VLSD in stock, I can swap it for that one, but they want an extra $300 for it.

Since my car is an auto, does that mean my current one will mount with no fabrication required?

it's not much modification anyway, the OP really does a great job of breaking it down.

whats the best way for me to figure out what my car has for options? I bought it off a friend because it had low mileage and i know it wasnt in an accident, but I dont really know what options it has. He said it was fully loaded minus navigation... but its an automatic so I dont know anymore! I have the 19" forged rays..

If it has the aluminum pedals and orange stitching on the steering wheel then it probably has the aero package and sport suspension as well. I forget what the premium package included.

^^^^

your auto that has orange stitching is a sport, which has vlsd.

I need a vlsd for my g37 non sport auto. Found a few g37 auto vlsd's but they want 500-700 for the pumpkin.

You car has the VLSD. This link will show the exterior differences. https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cou...s-06-07-a.html

OP, great write up. I just installed a G37 pumpkin today with no issues. It took me forever but really was not that difficult with the right tools.

it sure feels like an open diff. maybe its because of the previous vehicles i owned with higher performance diffs than this one.

Ok, lately I've been searching for a 3.7 FD pumpkin w/vlsd and found this one. Can anyone confirm that everything in the pictures is all I need for the swap into my 5AT 07 coupe, aside from the drive shaft and flange modification? It's off of an 09 G37 auto coupe w/12k miles.

This is what the description says:

This is used complete rear differential unit. Everything on the picture is included. See picture to judge condition.

Contact for more pictures. Or with any other questions.

Donor vehicle:

Make: INFINITI

Model: G37 coupe

Year: 2009

Milage: 12000

Transmission: Automatic

Sorry if the pictures are too big, I'm on my iphone can't resize them . Thanks for any help.

^^It will fit and everything is there. I got mine off a G37 sedan 6MT, no modification was required. My first one was off an auto and looked like the one you posted.

^Not sure. But according to the link below, that diff is a 3.3:
http://infinitihelp.com/models/2009/...ifications.htm

And the pinion shaft on the one pictured is different then the one I had.
