Also of interest will be your rmp at 80mph

Accel = WOW !! In D going from 4th to 3rd while flooring it is like a whole new car !

CC works up to ~60 mph but at ~70 mph or more I get the blinking light and no go.

With VDC On or Off I do not see any slip light.

Now I must wait again a couple of months for the drag season but I'll try some runs with my Gtech RR soon to have an idea of the performance

Yea my VDC is working fine now. But I lost CC.
Does not work at any speed. At least not when I last tried it. I'm gonna go try it again today. Hopefully it works. If not then no big deal. As long as the VDC is working..

I finally took some time to try a couple of runs with my Gtech RR (the new and more accurate model).

I did only five runs but it gives me a baseline before I go to the track.

2003 5AT with stock 18" wheels, plenum spacer, 3.7 FD (vlsd), K&N filter.

D with VDC On
14.45 @ 96.3 mph
2.39 60ft

MM with VDC Off
14.35 @ 95.6 mph
2.28 60ft

14.25 @ 96.1 mph
2.26 60ft

14.17 @ 99.5 mph
2.30 60ft

14.04 @ 99.5 mph
2.30 60ft

I know, my 60ft are pretty bad . In fact launching at 1500-2000 rpm I was feeling wheel spin. Of course, it's 50F around here so the road and tires are really cold.

According to my gtech graph, I cross the 1/4 mile in 4th at ~4700rpm so I'm almost at peak TQ. I'm not sure if it's a good thing vs power for an automatic but I think it's not that bad according to the numbers I've got.

Oh well it was mostly for fun I will have to hit the track to get "real" numbers. But from comparisons with my previous cars, that gtech is not too far away from the truth. I'm pretty sure that with good weather, good grip and a little more practice I will get interesting numbers

cheers

^^^ crossing in 4th is costing you... you should try to max out rpm in each shift in order to make it through in 3rd.

With 3.7 its tricky to make that happen - you have to shift at exact right rmp without hitting rev limiter... bumping rev limit to 7200 helps, but if you dont max out the revs and shift precise, you'll hit the limiter.

I ended up having mine bumper to 7500 (for added cushion) - but that was after upgraded springs, rod bolts and oil pump... it's not a good idea to go past 7200 with those upgrades.

Okay, that's what I've read and thought...

I definately did try to shift as high as I could without hitting the rev limiter and doing so I did in fact hit it a couple of times in first gear.

BUT my primary goal was not to make awesome 1/4 passes. So as long as I get it in the "13" I will be more then happy

I'm pretty confident that moderate/good track conditions with good traction and 60ft and I will be able to post a 13.xx time slip

Maybe in a few months ?!

07 was the 2nd gen sedan - totally different car... 07 coupe was basically the same - no major changes till the G37

rpm @ 80 for me is 3250

@OCG35, Your absolutely right. Sorry again if I've put in some confusion.

For the RPM at 80mph I was a bit mixed up cause I wanted to ask JLAWG35 instead of you. ... But it's pretty sure now it would be around 2900

Thanks

no prob...

but his rmp wont be that low... it's probably about 3K right now at 80 mph... with 3.7 it will be close to the rest of us that went from 3.3 to 3.7 (3200-3250).

*edit... unless you meant his rmp with current 3.3 is 2900 (its probably close)... Initially I thought you meant it would be 2900 with 3.7 - after re-reading I dont think thats what you meant...

07 5AT Coupe stock 3.3 close to ~2900

07 5AT Coupe upgraded to 3.7 close to ~3200
