Place a angle screwdriver, "L" shape, in between the face of the passenger clip and the clip itself. Apply lateral pressure and then twist the screwdriver. This lifts and pushes the connecter off the CPS.

Make sure you:
1. Lift
2. Lift & Twist

It does take some effort. Just be sane, you don't need to use hulk strength.

undo the 10ml bolt and pull the sensor out with the clip still on the sensor, now you have more room to push the tab in and pull it off the sensor

Thank you SO MUCH! It was a cinch to remove the clip once the bolt was removed. Otherwise it would've been impossible for me to change the passenger side sensor by trying to remove the clip first. Unfortunately, I ran into more issues. After I replace all 3 sensors, the car refused to start at all! After much tinkering, it turned out that the passenger side sensor was preventing the car from starting. I replaced it with the OEM one and it finally started up. THe 2 other sensors I bought from Rock auto are still in place. However, the SEL, SLIP, and NO VDC light are on. Though it starts up now, its takes a good 3-4 or so seconds of cranking to start. My car used to start instantly before the sensor swap Is all this trouble caused by using non NIssan parts?

Thats why I made sure to buy the OEM sensors. I read a few posts about the issues coming back after a few hundred miles with the aftermarket sensors. Hopefully you can get some of your money back for the ones you bought from rockauto.

Why must you be so pretentious?

It's not that hard to remove while on the engine, but also not advisable. It's not like you cannot?

Sorry for not being a master expert on camshaft sensor installation like you are. Since I've never done an installation myself I figured it I'd FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE First PAGE. If only you've been here to guide me with your sagely and extremely helpful wisdom I'd be able to avoid embarrassing myself on this forum and not be your laughing stock. I'm glad I can make you laugh though!

I don't have a clue WTF saywat is pissing about. I'm pretty sure he's just trolling. R6n350GT's method clearly worked, and got the job done. As a matter of fact, I've added the suggestion to the intro page. Hopefully that helps someone else as well.

So I bit the bullet and bought a bank 2 sensor from NIssan. car starts up fine now but occasionally it takes a second or so longer to start up. My car started up pretty much instantly before I replaced the sensors. The VDC and SLip lips no longer come on but now the SES light is on and its giving me error code 0021. Apparently some people have gotten this code after a camshaft sensor install? Is this directly due to the driver side camshaft sensor install? Maybe my throttle body/intake pipe wasn't on securely? God this is annoying. Gonna fiddle around some more with the cam/crankshaft sensors.

Since I didn't see any real details on how to change these without removing anything I created a log in just to post my experiences with this issue. You can in fact change both of these cam sensors without removing anything but the engine cover. The one on the passenger side is able to be changed by standing and bending over the car from the passenger side. The one on the drivers side is a little more difficult but also possible to change without removing anything. I had to crawl up on the engine block and bury both my arms between the engine and the frame and dig around to find the right bolt, you can then get a wrench (10mm) on it and take it off. Make sure to use your needle nose pliers to remove the harness. Like others have said, on both of the sensors I highly suggest removing the bolt first and then the harness. This will save you a ton of trouble. I'm 5' 6" and 150lb so this may not be ideal for anyone who is of the larger nature but if you're able I highly suggest trying it without removing everything. The whole process took about an hour and my car is running great again! Thanks for the DIY.
